Each collection in the Line 6 Metallurgy series comes loaded with four genre-specific amplifier types, with adjustable speaker, microphone, and IR setups to tweak your tone to taste. Metallurgy: Thrash sports three replications of hyper-aggressive amplifiers that defined the thrash metal era, plus the Jazz Rivet 120 that captures the pristine cleans and chorus tones of Metallica’s moodier moments. The Cali IV produces all the fat, saturated gain tones of the classic California combo amp that served as its inspiration, while the Placater Dirty offers a modern boutique spin on the vintage thrash formula. Although the Das Benzin certainly delivers the thrash, it’s designed after a German boutique head with a brutal tone that’s found a home across the entire metal spectrum.
