A Studio-quality, Feature-laden Desktop Interface

Avid’s MBOX Studio includes everything you need to create, record, edit, and mix your projects. This desktop USB-C audio interface boasts a generous complement of simultaneous I/O, along with exceptional sound, low-latency tracking, loopback mixing, and real-time effects. You’ll appreciate the clarity of MBOX Studio’s four high-quality mic preamps, which include variable impedance for maximum versatility. You also get variable-impedance instrument inputs, along with line-level analog, digital, and MIDI I/O. Dual headphone outputs and a full-featured monitor controller, complete with talkback, are also included. Stereo Bluetooth I/O is also onboard, as is built-in re-amping and a guitar tuner. Whether you’re a studio engineer, voice-over talent, or podcaster, MBOX Studio, powered by Pro Tools Studio, delivers the studio-quality sound and pro-level performance you need to deliver your best work.

Contains a generous complement of I/O

With 21 x 22 simultaneous I/O at up to 24-bit/96kHz (or 10 x 10 at 176.4 or 192kHz), MBOX Studio contains enough I/O to tackle any project you throw at it. Its four high-quality mic preamps boast variable Z for maximum performance with any microphone. Two variable-impedance instrument inputs make connecting your electric guitar or bass a breeze. You also get four additional line-level inputs, along with two impedance-switching effects loops. MBOX Studio also includes stereo Bluetooth I/O, enabling you to jam with your iPhone and connect your AirPods. You also get eight channels of optical ADAT or two channels of optical S/PDIF, plus coax S/PDIF and MIDI I/O and an impedance-matched, hi-Z output for effortless guitar re-amping. Two footswitch/expression pedal inputs round out MBOX Studio’s generous complement of I/O.

Includes a full-featured monitoring section

Avid’s MBOX Studio makes setting up rock-solid monitoring a piece of cake. For starters, you get two stereo monitor outputs, and you can easily toggle between the two for quick referencing. Top-panel Mono, Mute, and Dim buttons put essential monitoring functions right at your fingertips. You also get two headphone outputs with independent cue mix control. The engineers here at Sweetwater have also found that MBOX Studio’s integrated talkback makes in-studio communication a walk in the park.

Offers something for everyone

Regardless of what kind of projects you work on in your studio, MBOX Studio is ready to accommodate you. With it, you can create beats and record studio-quality music with high-quality mic preamps, built-in effects, low-latency monitoring, and premium AD/DA conversion. You can capture killer guitar tones, thanks to a bevy of guitarist-friendly features, and record voice-overs and perform sound editing with independent cue and monitor mixes — plus easy monitor switching. Podcasters can use MBOX Studio to capture dialog, along with audio from video games, YouTube, or other sources with loopback mixing. You’ll accelerate your workflow with four user-assignable buttons for oft-used functions. Lastly, you can integrate your iPhone, AirPods, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices for source recording and monitoring.

Reviews

Bada Bing Bada Boom!
The thing I love about the Mbox Studio is that it will allow me to grow! I can build around it,I won't need another interface for a while.
Fits great with the Dual Raven desk I was a little worried about that.
Build quality on point. Sound quality on point. Looks on point.
I got no complaints!

Perfect
Very happy with my Mbox Studio, everything looks, works and sounds amazing!! Thank you, Sweetwater
Hidden gem
First of all, thanks to Ben for turning me on to this item. I wasn't really looking for an interface since my old Firewire still works great, but it is 2024 after all. I was asking about different Pro Tools options for an upcoming project, and Ben recommended this item. Glad I took his suggestion!

This thing is almost as easy as plug-n-play. You have to download some software and make sure you have the most current firmware, and then you're off and running. Lots of great connections including SPDF, and I absolutely love that it has a stereo effects loop for outboard gear. STEREO EFFECTS LOOP! How cool is that? I use outboard processors, so this is a feature I will get a lot of use out of.
There a lots of videos on Youtube for operations, strengths and weaknesses.

I know it may be a bit bulky for some people, but it fits perfectly on my desk.
And sure, there are no plugins like you get with UA interfaces. But this baby comes with a Pro Tools Studio perpetual license, which to me is worth much more than any bundle of plug ins.

This thing is simple and straight forward, which is what you absolutely need in any recording project. Easy to learn, easy to,operate.
If you're considering jumping into Pro Tools, this may be the best route for you. It was for me.
It's just a steal
Coming from a Scarlett 18i20 gen 1, the difference is so huge that you can't even compare the two. It's a guitar players dream, the preamp are just fantastic and the headphones out sounds great. The most important part is the software, it comes with a perpetual license of pro tools with great other software list. I don't think there is a better option for this price on the market, not even close.

Avid MBox Studio USB-C Audio Interface with Protools
This purchase was a no brainer. Protools included with the MBox Studio was just what I was looking for. I wanted something simple to work with coming from using Digi Design 2 with Protools. The install was quick and easy. I recommend this product to anyone who is just starting out producing tracks. It comes with all the plug-ins you would need. Looking forward to producing some great music with this product. My rep Teryn Cooper is the best. He guided me thru several options but in the end I choose the MBox Studio.
