Most people don't think of P-90s or a trapeze-style tailpiece on a Les Paul, but those are both original parts of Les Paul's design. In fact, the trapeze tailpiece was invented and patented by Les Paul at the time of his original solidbody guitar's production and used until the 1958 model. P-90s were originally produced by Gibson as early as 1946, and be 1952 had become the standard pickup. Although modern Les Paul models feature humbuckers of one sort or another, the Les Paul Tribute 1952 gives you a taste of the tone of a truly authentic Gibson.
