Amazing guitar
All you need is one pickup, if the guitar is good enough.
I have three juniors: Cs Sg Junior, 57 junior heavy aged and this little black junior ultra heavy aged.
Now I believe that Murphy Lab is a magical thing, because black junior has the best resonance. I'm not sure if it is because of the body shape's difference.
Junior and P90 is my favorite!
Im blown away by everything about this guitar - its a time machine that looks, feels and sounds like the best vintage Gibson ever
So Im a Sweetwater veteran and have enjoyed buying nice guitars on interest free credit for a while now. I recently finished paying off a custom shop strat, so I was in touch with my sales engineer Randy Poteete about getting another guitar. Randy has helped me get guitars and gear that I never thought I could afford to own. I tell him what I want and he keeps an eye on the inventory and pricing. The only problem was, all the guitars that I liked were out of stock, so I told him my favorites and waited to hear back when something came in.
Well, the first guitar to show up was this ultra heavy aged Murphy lab double cutaway Les Paul junior. Do I take it, or pass and wait for one of the other guitars I coveted. I thought long and hard for 15 minutes and decided to pull the trigger on this very pricey guitar. And I would not have made that move with anyone other than Randy Poteete and Sweetwater, because of the relationship and trust we have built up over the years.
This guitar is absolutely incredible. Its exactly like a premium 1960s guitar that was played hard and maintained perfectly for decades. It feels, looks, plays and sounds like a vintage guitar, except that its a brand new meticulously crafted fine instrument. As for the guitar itself, it plays and sounds amazing, it is so resonant and full of sustain, and the pickup is miraculous, its amazingly responsive and flexible.
