It's exactly what I expected...which pleases me. The sound is flexible enough for the way I play and the price made it more than worth it.
Sweetwater's service is great, too. They worked with me to fix a misunderstanding with my order and everything worked out fine. Looking forward to a long relationship with these folks.
Great affordable studio bass
This thing slaps I have it hanging on a wall by a nail and it still is in tune everytime I go to pick it up . Great value also has good tone
great bass
it slaps i painted it black but it slaps its good for recording applications and stays in tune
Great bass for the price
I purchased this bass back in January 2021 and have been actively using it since then. I really like this bass, it's bare tone (no effects) is nice and full, the EQ allows you to shape your tone nicely and the active pickups give you plenty of output. I really like the thin neck on this bass as it feels really nice in my hand. The only issue I experienced with it was the one I received from Sweetwater had twisted strings resulting it to sound a bit dead, I was going to change the strings anyways to my preferred brand once I got it home so this wasn't a huge deal. The bass was setup great otherwise.
My first bass
1. Needed a fret job immediately.
2. Truss Rod nut stripping on very first use.
3. The 2 Tone control knobs barely make a detectable change in tone, but are working.
4. The Tuners are really cheap and sloppy action.
5. The plug in jack, where you plug in the chord, was intermittent connection right out of the box. (Had to take it out, and bend the levers on the back so that they make constant contact) Also the Jack is very poor quality.
6. This is my first bass so i don't really have a comparison for the neck feel. but to me this is a very uncomfortable neck.
7. For whatever reason, this Bass Guitar had a weird and disgusting smell, right out of the box. Something on it. Because i was able to get rid of the smell by wiping it down with bleach several different times.
Based off of this one purchase i'll not be buying any "Jackson" products ever again.
All that being said and done. I think i have most of the bugs worked out, and i knew i was buying the cheapest base i could find. Its a bass and i can manage to record some bass tracks with it.
