Inspired by the evocative hues of Japanese autumn, this one-of-a-kind Ibanez Custom 5-string Aki Bass is crafted from premium Japanese tonewood with signature Ibanez electronics. The result? An iconic look a with premium bass tone. The most striking feature, a Tamo ash top, is crafted from rare Tamo ash trees that only grow in Japan. A figured hardwood with more expressive grain than flame maple, Tomo ash’s hints of flame and vertical waves keep it rare high demand. The top’s rich finish, named Aki after the Japanese word for autumn, bristles like the changing of the seasons with hints of browns, reds, oranges, greys, and blacks. The sonics are just as impressive: two Nordstrand Big Single pickups and a 3-band EQ dish out an abundance of rich bass tone. With trees as our muse
In honor of autumn's woodsy colors and hues, the Ibanez Custom Shop curated a desirable collection of rare tonewoods for the Aki 5-string Bass. The bass features a resonant mahogany body and a 34-inch scale neck with 24 stainless steel frets. When paired with the unmatchable sustain of mahogany, the tonal range of the Aki Bass’ extended scale and five-string build make it an unbeatable choice for one lucky player. The 5-piece neck is built from hybrid selections of maple and purpleheart complete with a rare cocobolo fingerboard that’s sonically similar to rosewood, but with a more flamboyant grain that accentuates this bass guitar's autumn muses.

The Aki bass’ versatile electronics are capable of tones as varied as Japan’s own colorful fall foliage. Onboard are two Nordstrand Big Single pickups. A stalwart giant among Nordstrand's single-coil offerings, the bold blank canvas of the Big Singles is given definition and shape by the Ibanez JPCS30 Aki Bass’ custom 3-band EQ. Onboard controls give you control over boost/cut for bass, mid, and high frequencies with toggle switches for a mid-frequency boost and an EQ bypass for more direct transparent tone. No matter what tonal texture your music calls for — the JPCS30 superb electronics are ready to color your playing with unmatched richness and depth.
