Celebrate 50 Years of Ibanez Innovation
As part of Ibanez's gold anniversary celebration, this 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS29 5-string electric bass guitar is truly a one-of-a-kind instrument. Inspired by the summer season ("Natsu" in Japanese), the JPCS29's stunning Splash Blue finish and elegant Splashing Wave inlay add museum-worthy artwork to a masterfully crafted instrument. A pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups is flanked by a 3-band EQ, arming you with an array of tone-shaping possibilities. Meanwhile, Ibanez's Mono-rail V bridge ensures the JPCS29 will resonate with formidable clarity and sustain. Representing five decades of quality and innovation in creating world-class bass guitars, the Ibanez 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS29 will be an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime addition to your collection.
World-class artistry
To capture the "relaxation and free spirit of summer," master luthiers at Ibanez chose a Full Moon Maple top with wave-like figuring that invokes the power and beauty of the ocean. The effect is enhanced by the subtle Splash Blue finish, capturing the look of sunlight breaking through the ocean's surface. Light figuring on the maple fretboard carries the wave-like appearance up the entire neck to its matching painted headstock. A single Splashing Wave 12th-fret inlay brings the whole aesthetic together with elegance. It all adds up to the 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS29 simply being one of most artfully crafted instruments we've seen at Sweetwater.
Premium electronics befitting top-tier craftsmanship
With a “super-packed” coil, the Big Single is considered by Nordstrand to be the "tonal giant" of their pickup offerings, and they give the 50th Anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS29 a versatile voice with amazing richness. In addition, you have the powerful sound-shaping capabilities of Ibanez’s Custom 3-band EQ, which gives you control over boost/cut for bass, mid, and high frequencies, a mid-frequency switch to fine-tune your midrange, and an EQ bypass. Fingers, thumb, or pick — no matter what tonal texture your music calls for — the JPCS29 superb electronics are ready to support your sonic needs.
Mono-rail bridge enhances definition and sustain
Ibanez specified their innovative Mono-rail V bridge for the Ibanez 50th-anniversary Japan Custom Shop JPCS29. Unlike single-body bridges, each Mono-rail saddle is completely separate from the others. Since they aren’t connected, the saddles create minimal sympathetic vibration. This prevents unused strings from ringing. Also, each saddle is double anchored, allowing energy to transfer efficiently between the string and the body. The results are astonishing clarity and sustain, setting a strong sonic foundation for practically any musical style.
