Fender Infinity Strap Locks - Chrome
Fender Infinity Strap Locks - Chrome Reviews
Stage-diving can be fun — for concert goers. It’s not fun for your guitar or bass. That’s why you need Fender Infinity strap locks. These must-have guitar accessories will safeguard your instrument during even the most strenuous of stage acrobatics, preventing embarrassing (and potentially guitar-destroying) droppage. These durable strap locks are made from hardened steel, sport eye-grabbing “F” logos, boast 360 degrees of rotation, and feature a unique side-pinch release mechanism for easy adjustments. We’re all about relic’ing instruments here at Sweetwater, but letting them fall onto a stage isn’t the best way to go about it. So, get Fender Infinity strap locks instead. With them, you can make relic’ing a voluntary decision.
Did not work
The ball bearing locks pop right out of the strap button with very little effort. I've owned these for almost 2 full days before they began failing consistently with very light pressure. The metal housing that contains the spring mechanism also began prying itself apart under the weight of my jazz bass. Don't risk it, just buy the Dunlop ones.
I should’ve tested these before gig
I've had problems with my strap falling off in previous gigs due to my style of moving around the stage, I'm inspired by flea and my band does RHCP covers. I got these thinking they would be the solution to my problem. Multiple times throughout the gig mid performance the strap lock popped off making my bass almost fall to the floor, finding myself on one knee finishing the song. These do not work, not to mention they stick out a whole inch away from your instrument.
Great Product
Been using these for almost a year now. As many are saying they stick out a bit, which I find good as I don't have my strap or chord grinding into the finish. I play out nearly every weekend and have yet to have any issues of these coming unlocked, unless they don't latch completely on both sides, which they snap and lock in.
Quality made, bad design
These stick out about an inch from the body. The ball retainers are tiny and they wiggle around in the socket even though they're plugged in. I haven't had one fall out yet, but I don't trust it. The side buttons to squeeze to release are difficult to get your fingers on, not really a quick release. They look good and are of good quality manufacture, but that's about all that's going for them.
they stick out close to a whole inch...
I did not realize these would stick out the way they do Im posting an online picture of what Im talking about. (Its not my guitar in the pic) I dont like it at all. ITs actually pretty awful. I wish I would have read some reviews. Im getting something different...
Terrible
Bought 3 sets so could have the same ones on my 3 main guitars.
They're popping off all the time. They are going in the trash.
I almost dropped my guitar many times.
Do not trust them!
Fender Missed The Mark 100%
There was so much play in the locks thought I had installed everything wrong so I googled Fender Infinity locks and found the reviews and the issues with them. I threw them away because I don't trust them to function correctly.
Luckily I had a set of Schallers and installed them. I will not buy anything other than Schallers again.
Fender
Easy as 123.
On the fence? take the plunge, well worth it.
Come on Fender.
I purchased these locks. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe it's the way I perform. But these locks came unlocked 4 times during a performance. 4 times I had to catch my professional ulta jazz. Am I supose to stand still and play?????? Fender.
Fix for Affinity strap locks
I was able to repair one of the locks that wouldn't engage by grinding a small amount of metal from the end that inserts, it was bottoming out on the mount screw causing it to not fully insert, after the slight modification it works fine.
Fender infinity strap locks
Recently installed a pair of these on a new b bender telecaster, fortunatley I was able to catch the guitar before it hit the floor, one of the locks doesn't work at all, almost damaged a new guitar.
Not again
Only thing these have going for them is the look , they stick out to far and wobble and its hard to trust these things, I have American fenders and high priced Paul Reed Smiths and fixing to replace these things immediately. Somebody dropped the design ball on these , taking these off immediately
garbage
The retaining system does not work . the one I put on the neck side pops out nonstop . Two days of having them on my guitar I took them off .
Good idea, but
I had high hopes for these as they look great in the pictures. Nonetheless, it is evident whoever designed these does not play guitar. They are VERY loose and sloppy when plugged into the strap button and they stick out about 3/8" too far. Again, they look good until they are installed.
Sloppy
I will be replacing these immediately. I cannot trust them because they feel so loose and all the pressure put on the guitar because of the strap hanging to far from the guitar. They look nice and that is the only thing they have going for them. I would use the original strap button over these sloppy locks. Fender should be embarrassed.
Ok femder
Not too satisfied with this product it sticks out a little too far for me but overall it's a good product
Poor Design IMO
Love Fender products, but this missed the mark. Easy installation, however there is a lot of extra thread on the mechanism that attaches to your strap which causes the overall length of the lock to be extreme in my opinion. Also, there is a lot of play in the locking mechanism itself which seems to be a very poor design. I'm returning this item and would not recommend it.
Unusably poor design
They look cool, but they stick out really far and don't provide any security whatsoever.
Don't buy...
Within the first few days, because they stick out so much it was pulling more and just ate up the screw holes. My buddy was about to get these, I showed him my guitar and he said never mind. I've never had a problem with anything Fender or Sweetwater but now I have to get new strap locks.
Love fender
I love the feel of them, they stick out a bit more than I thought but overall an awesome product.
wow.
absolute slop fit. if you can find the clasp style "C" shaped strap locks go that route. these leave a lot of play and aren't worth the time or money. love the logo and style just wish they were the normal style of strap lock not push button tiny bearing style that leaves you more worried than not having strap locks at all. returning immediately.
Dubious Locking Mechanism
If I had it to do over, I'd get Dunlop or Schaller instead. The locking mechanism has a lot of play, a generally sloppy feel, and leaves me with little confidence that this is a long-term solution.
Sloppy Fit
The first time I locked the back in it popped out. It has been fine since but these are an extremely sloppy fit. One was sloppy but OK and the other makes me wonder if I should just take them back off and replace with something else.
