Good case but

By Wick B. from NEW YORK, NY
Music Background: Guitar

Too heavy, Very heavy, the upper velvet/padding came unglued and that's ridiculous. The internal storage slots/pockets are not thought through- they could be useful, especially if they had hinged lids - some way to keep picks, cables, music, strap, Peterson strobe tuners, a couple of wrenches (to adjust your neck) and screw drivers (to dial in your bridge for intonation, etc. organized and AWAY from dinging your guitar.
The wheels are great, but ought to recede into the case when the case is free standing/upright. As is, the case stands precariously close to skidding out on those wheels.
The good?
It's very strong- not sure an elephant could stand on it, but I can. It's been shipped through baggage many times and still looks pretty good! The handle is comfortable and it's spring loaded to recede into the shape of the case so it won't get knocked off.
The blue velvety material is too polyester feeling, almost sharp and glass-like on the hand. Should be upgraded to a natural fiber.
The latches are probably the best thing about this case! I hate that a TSA team may have access but the TSA Locks are a good idea- you can also install your own lock but I'd rather keep my guitars close.
Hope this gives you a good idea- it's very expensive, looks like a gun case and is solid/very heavy.
If you have a tech or a band of roadies? No biggie. But handling 2 or 3 of these by yourself? I figure you may have to leave your sequin/patent viper leather suit home.

Best Les Paul Case on the market !!!

By Sweetwater Customer from California

Absolutely the best case for LPs out there. I got tired of the ply brown cases Gibson provides with their Custom Shop LPs, which are just adequate (though historically correct). The Gator Titan Series case provides incredible protection - especially for the price. I started replacing my CS-LPs for ease of mind and considering the cases are a great value. At about 5%-7% of the instruments value, its really a no brainer. I've purchased 3 so far and love these cases. Plus the service from Sweetwater is incredible.

This is the most amazing case for your guitar. Rest assured your axe will be super safe inside!

Not designed for air travel not rotomolded and it's BLACK!!!

By Sweetwater Customer

If you're like me you know that your guitar is going to sit out on an African tarmac baking in the 105f sun. That's why we need tan or better white case that is rotomolded plastic and super tough wont crack. Anyway this is the best i can find for a PRS for now

Excellent!

By James S. from Dover, DE

This Gator Titan Case is extremely well built. I already knew it was well built from the demonstration videos on YouTube, but wow! This is amazing! Fits my 2017 Gibson LP Traditional like a glove. It weighs about as much as it looks and with a guitar inside, you'll be taking power breaks in between transport on foot. You could use the wheels if you want though. Expensive but you get what you pay for!

My all time favorite case.

By Jimmy H. from Florida
Music Background: A.I.M.

I got a gig in St.Thomas last year and needed a flight case for my Les Paul. I looked everywhere for the right one for me. Well...This is it!
I'm headed back down there to play again this month and just bought another case for my Strat. I now hate all my other cases. You'll LOVE it!

Indestructible and road tested the hard way

By Craig H. from Porter, TX

I'm very meticulous when it comes to keeping my guitars safe and when we shipped my son's guitar to college with us below in cargo, I didn't know how well it was protected until the end of the trip. Two plane rides, one in a regional jet, a car ride later and we arrived at our destination only to have the rental car hatch pop open and the case and it's contents literally was ejected onto solid pavement from about 3 feet up and tumbled over a couple times from the momentum... I looked in horror thinking surely the EC1000 inside was totaled... Well aside from some very minor scratches to the outside case, the guitar and all the contents in the case were in perfect condition. The guitar was even in tune through that tumble... I'm sold! I would never buy another case for travel other than this one or it's future model! Well done Gator!!!

Superior Engineering, Durability and Protection

By Brian M. from Seattle, WA
Music Background: Jazz / Rock Guitarist

I researched many cases, and while there are quite a few professionally built cases for the road, the Gator Titan Series filled the bill with its durability, protection and aesthetics. I own a Gibson Les Paul R9 "Real Feel" Flametop that"s very special to me and didn"t want to trust it with just an ordinary case. I feel very confident with the build and protection this case offers. My only hesitation when buying this case, the TSA locks weren"t built into the Powerclaw latches, but much to my surprise when I got it, the case did have two TSA lock latches installed. Just like Gibson Les Paul guitars, Gator cases are five-star.

Nice, but Left-Handed

By MickyZ from Minneapolis, MN
Music Background: Cover band guitarist

I bought this case to replace an SKB 3i-type case which inexplicably did not fit my lovely new Gibson '57 Les Paul Custom (also a Sweetwater purchase). Thanks to Ryan Wiltermood and his team for researching the fit of this case for my guitar, and for recommending this case. It is sturdy, is essentially waterproof (tested in a recent torrential downpour while heading for a rehearsal), and the Power Claw latches are really nice compared to the SKB latches - a bit smoother, more compact, and easier to use, IMO.

However, it must be said that this is decidedly a left-handed case. All of my other guitar cases (of which I have over two dozen for my various guitars and basses) position the headstock to my left when the case is open, with the body to the right, just like when I'm playing the guitar (I'm right-handed). Which allows me to to quickly transfer the guitar into the case without any repositioning. With this case, however, I have to reverse the guitar, positioning the headstock to my right and guitar body to the left, which means I have to switch hands to get it into the case. I suppose this increases the risk of dropping the guitar when trying to get it into or out of the case. Also, compared to my SKB 3i-type case for my R4 Les Paul Custom, the wheels are on the "wrong" end, furthering the "left-handedness" of the case.

There is some storage space on either side of the headstock in the case but not for anything sizeable, like a standard-sized Boss pedal or rolled up snakeskin guitar strap. The storage spaces are also not independently covered, and depend on the case lid to cover the storage spaces. Finally the case handle, while soft on the hands, is exactly in the center of the case, meaning that if you have a guitar that is body-heavy, like many reissue Les Pauls, the balance point is wrong, dragging the body side of the case down. Then you have to figure out where the end handle and wheels are to use them. My SKB 3i-type case has the same problem.

Overall, this case will provide great protection to your guitar once the guitar is in the case, but the orientation of the case interior makes getting the guitar in or out of the case quite awkward, and may result in a damaged guitar if it slips out of your hands. Be forewarned.

More than enough

By Frank from Santa Cruz, CA
Music Background: Guitars and Keyboards

Well, I own a number of guitars. My first electric guitar was a Gibson Les Paul 30th Anniversary Gold Top. I had been playing my Gibson SJ Deluxe since '71, and I wanted to go electric. So when I bought the LP in '84, the guitar shop wanted to give me a typical vinyl laminate case, but couldn't find one that fit, so they reluctantly gave me a molded poly case - and it's still in fairly good shape; well, the latches are starting to break away from the case.
So after 35 years, and knowing that my 30th is worth three times more than the day I bought it, I decided it needed a new case; a really nice one.
This Gator Titan case is airtight, waterproof, and is ridiculously "military grade". It actually weighs more than my LP, and you know how heavy LP's are. Now I know why the case has wheels - you need them. There is absolutely no doubt that my LP would survive the gorillas they hire to load up the cargo hold of an airplane. Seriously, this is more than enough... almost an overkill; but if my 30th could talk, it would tearfully say, "Thank you... thank you."
Yes, I still have the SJ Deluxe.

Best Case Ever !

By Sweetwater Customer

This is not a small case, obviously it's bigger than a gig bag.... It takes a decent size to make a robust case for air, or any type of travel.

This is super strong. Super snug. Fantastic latches. Great interior design. Wheels and spring loaded handles are nice.

We are shipping basses in this case that are not replaceable, one of a kind instruments - Gator was our first choice and is, so far, our best choice.

The pressure release valve is very important to us. The latches that do not activate because of of any vertical pressure, but only when used in the obvious way were also very important to us.

And the strength of the outer shell, and the attention to detail for making the interior are outstanding.

As far as we are concerned, there is no better case to ship an instrument in.

GATOR TITAN Les Paul Case

By Jimmy P. from Cartersville, Ga.

LOVE THIS CASE!! Hands down, the best case I've ever owned. It fits my LEFT HANDED Jimmy Page Les Paul PERFECTLY!! The description says right handed, but lefty's fit too. Water proof, and the claw latches are the best I've seen. If you love your Les Paul, get one of these!!

Outstanding value

By John S. from Tennessee
Music Background: Hobbist

Only case I would have to protect may guitar investment. Case will provide all the security and protection needed when traveling or moving around with guitar, as well as at home or in storage. Only way to make this thing better would be to make it fireproof but then it would be too heavy for real functional use - LOL. Great product!.

The best you can get

By John from Texas
Music Background: Live music, recording

So I have an SKB iseries for my SG and it's a great case don't get me wrong. However, the Titan is far superior as far as protection goes. It has a secure tight closure and my Les Paul fits snug in it. I have no worries about taking it on the road or in the air. The interior is soft where it needs to be but rigid as well. The neck is well supported as well as the headstock. The only gripe I have is the case is oriented to for a left handed guitar, it takes some getting used to taking a guitar off and having to rotate it to put it in the case.

Excellent Case

By Ray from NJ

I really like this case. I have not flown with it yet. I have 4 les paul style guitars. Wanted this for when I fly anywhere. Holds the guitar nice and snug. It would take a lot to damage this case. The axles for the wheels are soft, and necessarily so. If someone drops the case on the edge of the wheel. The axle will bend, but only so far. The case will stop the wheel from moving far enough to damage the axle holders. I was able to straighten the existing axle. Not sure who dropped it before arriving at my home. Definitely engineered well. I believe it was a really good investment to protect my equipment.
