But what do I know?

By Mary Fetch from Bismarck, ND on October 23, 2023 Music Background: Amateur who plays to satisfy no one but me

I am very happy with this guitar. But I'm probably easy to satisfy being a rank amateur. The price was great, the finish is beautiful. I think I bought a great beginner electric.

Great affordable guitar!

I've had this guitar for 8 years now and honestly for the money you can't beat it. My first guitar was a Squier Strat and I prefer the Ibanez Gio. I feel like the quality of "cheap" guitars has improved so much over the years that you get to a point of diminishing returns the more money you spend. The sweet spot is probably around $800-1000 today, but not everyone has that kind of money to spend on a guitar. If you're one of those people you won't be disappointed with this guitar. It doesn't look or feel cheap.

Great Guitar, Perfection all of it!

Great practice / beginners guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on August 13, 2021

I bought this guitar so it could be my practice guitar and it has not disappointed. It came with minor defects which were all fixable. The output jack was a little lose which was fixed in like 1 minute and the pickups were a little high. The strings were low quality but that's expected for a $ guitar. Surprisingly the setup required was minimal but honestly these guitars are super easy to set up and for $ is a great tool to practice in if you dont know how to set up a guitar yet. Now to the good parts about it. It honestly plays super smooth and sounds amazing for $. Its light and it really feels like your hands glides across the fretboard. Never had an ibanez guitar before but I am super impressed with quality control. If you are a new player or are looking for a practice guitar to have around. I couldnt think of a better guitar than this one. It beats any squiers or epiphones at the price.

Furthermore, buying from Sweetwater was an amazing experience. They were super helpful and very interested that my product gets here in good conditions. I recommend this place over guitar center.

Great for beginners

By Marc on March 2, 2021 Music Background: Was a gig musician, played in bands, now just play for fun. 25 years playing guitar, 10 playing drums.

Bought this for my daughter that wanted to learn how to play. Instead of choosing one for her I let her decide which one she wanted. After showing her several dozen guitars she settled on this one. I have owned several Ibanez guitars and all of them have been fantastic guitars but I was a little hesitant due to the price point. I mean, for $... how good could it be?

She played it for a few hours and loved every minute of it. After she went to bed I pulled it off the rack to check it out. I was really surprised to find it's a solid instrument. Intonation was perfect, dead on. The action was 1.5 mm to 2.2 mm. on the 12th fret. The neck felt great and was easy to navigate. No dead spots or fret buzz anywhere. Off to a great start.

The pickups in the guitar were a little too high. After backing them down a bit the guitar really came into its own. They aren't great by any means but not bad either.

Overall it's better than expected and I would recommend this to any beginner looking for a guitar that is easy to play, easy to set up, and ready to go right out of the box. It is easily one of the best starter guitars I have ever played. 5 stars for being exactly what it was marketed to be and then some.

Great Country Guitar.

By Gerry Pair from Sacramento Ca on December 10, 2020 Music Background: Country Player and Singer

Just love this Guitar. Ibanez has got the best necks on a Guitar. The action is so great. So easy to play on. The sound is so cool. You can play any kind of music on this baby. Country, Rock and Blues. If ya like me. Small hands. No problem. If your looking for a nice Guitar that will no break the bank. Buy this Guitar.

Great guitar for the price! New to learning to play, but I had my friend who has been playing most of his life, play it, and he was highly impressed.

Great

This is only the second guitar I've owned, but this is a huge step up from my previous guitar which was a Johnson by AXL Electric Guitar. It has a much fuller tone and it stays in tune very well. My old guitar couldn't stay in tune very long on lower tunings or when bending, but that hasn't been a problem on this guitar. Also, Sweetwater was very helpful and kind when I needed to make several changes to my order. They are a fantastic business and any future music equipment I need, I 'll buy from Sweetwater
