Good guitar case

I bought this case because it was a Sweetwater certified fit for my Les Paul Jr double cut. It's a great case, but too roomy for a Les Paul Jr. There's about 1.5" of room above the top horn, 1" of extra space around the upper bout, plus the neck does not lay flat on the neck cradle (angles upward) because of the shallower depth of the Jr compared to a standard Les Paul. I have the same problem with my 80s Les Paul Lite, which is also thinner than a standard Les Paul. This can be remedied by placing a towel under the body, but I'm not thrilled about the overall slop, which makes me worry about a headstock break if the case were mishandled or dropped. I'll probably end up keeping it because I'll get killed on return shipping costs, but I'm less than satisfied. I would have given the case a 5 otherwise, but because of the loose fit and lack of homework by Sweetwater in calling it a certified fit for a Les Paul Jr double cut, I'm downgrading it to a 3.

I was preparing to move when the zipper broke on one of my gig bags. Having just purchased a partscaster that came with the rectangular version of this case, I felt confident it would provide sufficient protection while being light weight. It fits my Parker PM20 perfectly and it is exactly what I needed for carrying a guitar with me when I travel by vehicle. Sweetwater was excellent as always.

I'm a huge fan of gator cases. I use the Dreadnought case for my vintage Martin's. And their mandolin case for my vintage Gibson F5. I recently bought an ES 339 and searched high and low for an alternative case for gigging. I looked at a lot of forums, and also talked to a Sweetwater rep. The lower bout of the ES 339 is a quarter of an inch wider than the lower bout of this case. That's an eighth of an inch on either side. I took the chance and ordered the case. The ES 339 is a snug fit, and the longer I leave it in the case, the more the polyfoam conforms to the size of the guitar. Highly recommended for the ES 339!

This case fits my Epi LP Custom perfectly. I generally prefer a well padded gig bag to a hard-shell case and this works perfectly. As long as you handle your guitars yourself, this case will work fine.

Well constructed, light weight and sturdy. Good value for the bucks. Only one issue is that case was built for a Les Paul so the required void for the tone control is not matching up with my AR420 control switch. This creates extra pressure on the lever when the case is closed.

This is my 3rd Gator case/gig-bag I've purchased from SW, and I'm still blown away with the consistant quality of Gator, and the great service of SW.

I needed a sturdier way to carry my Les Paul Studio other than the gig bag it came with so I thought I'd give this rigid bag a try. For the most part it delivers as promised. I didnt like the shoulder straps so I took them off and just carry the bag by its handle. The bag has plenty of room for extras (cable, strap, etc.) and most importantly it gives reasonable protection. I dont like that when the case is open the lid doesnt stay open and constantly wants to fall back to the closed position...but its not really a big deal and bending the lid back on its hinges seems to help some. I gig a lot so I may just break down and get a hard case for the gtr as Im always a little nervous to just "throw" the guitar in the back of the van like we do with our hard cased guitars. Still, this is much better than a regular gigbag and the guitar fits perfectly in the case.

Great cross between a bag and a case. No negatives at all but have only had for a few months. Seems well made so hopefully it will last a long time.
