They work and are easy use;
Name Says "Mic" But Great For Mic BOOMs
We use mic-stand mounted Powered Monitor Speakers, and, while the monitor speaker drops in atop a screw-in mic stand adapter provided by the manufacturer, but it's really unwieldy to screw the boom in at the TOP of the monitor speaker. We found the Gator Frameworks Quick-release Mic Attachment at Sweetwater and bought a set of 3. You still have to fiddle with it a bit to get the boom not to swing around (I recommend having a soft-jaw plier available), but it's SO much better than trying to screw in the boom every time you're setting up and breaking down! The construction of the Quick-release adapters is very robust. We're very happy with them!
Really Helps With Setup
The Gator Frameworks Quick-release Mic Attachment seems to be really well made and will be very helpful in setting up our mic stands and booms more quickly and easily at gigs, especially since we use personal active monitors attached to our stands and bo longer have to struggle screwing in the booms at the gig.
Gator Frameworks GFW-MIC-QRTOP Quick-release Mic Attachment
This comes in real handy, I use one to switch a gooseneck in/out of a boom for overhead mics if I need extra length, another to quickly attach paddle antenna for IEM receiver to mic stand when I need that, and if not, I can pop a mic holder onto the same mic stand for an extra vocal mic, just takes a second. Hate wasting time setup/takedown.
So far so good
These things are great. I like them so much I'm also using them to make my stands more versatile so I can quickly switch out boom arms or change to a blumlein bar or whatever. The only issue really is once you start doing it for any of your mic holders and stands you end up wanting to do it for all of them. I definitely think it is worth it and I will likely get use out of more of my mics just because now it is so easy to swap things.
Quick release
Love the look!! Heavy duty, inter changeable. Love it!!!
Quick and easy.
Solid quick release. Especially good with complex shock mounts.
Very Handy...
They're pricey but if you have the $$$, I recommend the Gator Frameworks GFW-MIC-QRTOP quick release clips.
Here's why they work for me: I have a little production company with two systems. Each system has two mic stand bags; each with six tripod stands, four stack-able round base mic stands, and four shorty stands. I have a quick release on every stand, and mic clip. It makes setup & tear down so much faster. It also makes performer change-overs MUCH more efficient.
I used to have 1/2 of the stands with mic clips on them, and the other half with no clips so I could grab what I needed quickly, but there was always one or two that weren't the right setup, so I'd have to put a clip on, or take one off... Then they wouldn't get put away correctly at the end of a production, but now with a quick release on every stand and clip, it doesn't matter which stands I get out.
Pros:
Lock in solid and quickly.
The hexagon shape, makes them easy to get to the correct position
Make setup/tear down/change-over much faster
Cons:
Pricey
A little heavy: you need solid stands: especially when using with booms
Excellent
I have a set of these for my Shure PGA56 conga mics. They are very well made and are far superior to the On-Stage push-button type. They cost twice as much but they are far superior and well worth the difference. The Frameworks unit snaps in smartly and securely and, because of its hex-shaped shaft, it only takes a slight turn of the wrist to line it up and you're always within 60º of hitting home. Pop it in and the mic does not move, which is a fundamental requirement for this type of mic.
Unlike the On-Stage mount, you don't have to feel around for a button to insert or remove the mic (which defeats the "quick release" concept)), plus the Onstage version only lines up at one specific point, which is a heck of an annoyance in the dark.
I bought the Frameworks three-pack. They also offer them in a five-pack with zipper case. I'm very happy with mine. For anyone who has microphones with a standard-sized built-in mounts (such as Shure drum mics), these are an absolute must-have.
Worth the Money
I wasn't sure if these would be worth the money but after using them for a few days / sessions I can confidently say that they are. These things are full metal, pretty heavy, have a great finish, and leave me with a lot of confidence about what is holding up my microphones. Will buy again when I run out of the extras I already bought.

What a wonderful yet simple time saver for the studio. Change out mics on the drum kit? Done in minutes! Every mic stand needs one!
Must Have product!
Great tool to assist in set up/tear down times - or switching mics effortlessly in my home studio - these tools are invaluable.
Every mic stand and every mic clip has the adapter installed on them.
Robust - sturdy - so easy to use even the singer can do it.
Gator Got it Right
Yep, Pay for what you get on this thing. If you are using Large Diaphragm Microphones that are bulky or cost more that a few hundred bucks, this is the ticket. I think I could swing off of one of these things. Worth Every penny. Plus ,you can order the mount pieces separate. Great Buy. Thanks Mark Chapman! Sweetwater guru!.
Quick-release Mic Attachment
Love them much better than the predecessor. Bought 4 sets. Sure helps cut down setup & strike for a band. Screwing boom-arms off & on to mic-stands is a pain, this makes it a breeze. The male threaded part is also a perfect size when left on the boom-arms for storage. I highly recommend these.
Quick release mic attachments
Perfect for my studio. Saves a ton of time!
You want this, you NEED this!
If you're anything like me you have way more mics than you need. But they are the "tools of the trade". Absolutely the best purchase I've made all year! Don't worry about quality; I've got a Soundelux hanging on one, and a Neumann and Royer on others. NO WORRIES! I would give them a 5.5 if two of the 'mic side' pieces were included, or at least offered for sale separately. I have way more mics than stands, don't you!
Do yourself a favor, buy the three pack, or a couple 3's at least.
EXCELLENT
I bought the package to "test" it as I was spending a fair amount of time changing mics with singers, instrumentalists, myself, etc... in my Studio. Now that I have them, I don't know how I worked without those before!
They work perfectly even with large and heavy tube condenser mics. The lock is positive and very secure, and they are breeze to use. If you need to change mic these are a must.
What a timesaver.
Quick set up and take down. If I need to swap out a mic during a show
(because come jack*** blew into it...seriously, don't performers get ANY understanding of the term 'MICRO-phone?'), this is the one to get. Robust build, quick release. Holds the mic not only securely, but steady...there's no play in the mounting, like other quick releases. Looks good on stage. And, it's cost effective. The jam ring is a little too big to use on mics with the connector in the integrated base, with the mounting receiver, like a 55. And the red receiver flange on one of mine popped off during set up. It's only pressfit on, but, still that was a surprise from Gator. No matter, boogered up the fit ring with a pliers, and pressed the red flange back on. It's been there for years, now, without a hitch. It's the only instance out of the dozen or so of these I've deployed. So, this is an excellent solution. Oh...there's a surprise...it's from Gator.
Seems Sturdy and Easy to Use
I purchased two of these to set up a Mic boom and a tablet to a keyboard stand. Purchased in April 2016. So far so good. If they hold up after a year of use (set up tear down 3 Xs a week) I will update to 5 stars. One immediate benefit is reducing set up and tear down time. They appear to be of good quality metal.
Very handy
I found these a couple of months ago and have been working with them ever since. I just bought three more for some new gear that I added. These are well made and make set up and tear down much easier. The also save a lot of aggravation from trying to thread on pieces without cross threading. The onl fault I have with them is that sometimes they don't lock together and you have to really fiddle with them to lock up. That said, I wouldn't gig without them.
Great concept, but flawed design with quality control problems.
After testing out a single unit, I purchased enough 3-packs of these to outfit my entire studio. And while I really like the convenience they provide, I soon discovered that the design is somewhat flawed and quality control is apparently not the best. The way these are designed, the red collar piece must seat VERY tightly around the inner metal tube, or the spring tension against the outer black tube piece will just push the red collar up and off, and the entire mechanism will simply fall apart, sending the spring and two tiny ball bearings flying. And good luck finding those, much less putting the thing back together. And even if you do get it back together, these defective units won"t hold because the red collar was machined just slightly too large. This was the case on 3 of the units...all from different boxes.
