Not a perfect fit for all, but good enough. I keep buying broken guitars that need a lot of work for some reason. I have a handful of LP style guitars and a real Gibson. This is a snug fit for most and is a pretty good, as in not sloppy, fit for all of them. I tried a different brand first and didn't like the loose fit on the guitars. This one offers them a lot more protection, enough that I've bought a number of them now. Great case.

First off I own the Epiphone Les Paul Special Satin E1 Electric Guitar - Heritage Cherry Sunburst. Been looking for a hard case at a reasonable price. This one hit the mark. It is actually a perfect fit. The compartment is actually deeper than I had expected.

I needed a case for a "Kit" Les Paul that I am building. The best part in choosing the right case from Sweetwater that actually fits well were the photos with measurements of each of the case choices. There is a wide variety in actual measurements of cases stated to fit Les Pauls and I found the Gator case was the perfect fit for my build. The case quality is excellent and looks like it is quite durable. Shipping was quick and it arrived in perfect shape. This is a great case for my needs.

I have another Gator case from years back that has extra latches in odd places that are annoying. Thankfully they got rid of them with this model. The case works great. Fits my single cut guitars perfectly and holds everything securely. If you need a good hard case for a Les Paul... these work great.

One reviewer stated and posted a picture of his PRS Mccarty 594 SE fitting. Mine did not, I had the issue a few other people had. My PRS sit at an angle in the case causing the high side tuning pegs to hit the side of the case. I could not even fit the guitar in the case due to this. Would loved for it to fit but it didn't.

I have other cases for my other Les Paul's that I have and I wasn't always thrilled with them but this one is fantastic. It seems to be more sturdy than the other ones and the construction is pretty solid. Worth the money in my opinion

My Charvel Desolation DS-3 ST fits very well. Just a little spare space as it is a little shorter than a Les Paul. Case is solid and will protect the guitar in the trailer well. I would buy it again.

This case does exactly what it should. My only complaint is the storage compartment. It's rather small. I ended up having to purchase a new strap that would fit in the storage compartment. This seems to be an issue with a lot of aftermarket cases these days.

Bought this Gator case after reading all the positive reviews.
Cases have gotten pricey so this looked like a good deal.
Have owned other Gator cases in the past.
This one is extremely thin and flimsy.
One of my priorities with a case is that it doesn't stink like chemicals. One of the reviews said it didn't smell bad like other cases so I took a chance.
Mine smells like cheap tennis shoe rubber and toxic glue. Not as toxic as some so hoping it will fade with time.
The review I read that said theirs didn't smell was fmon a few years ago.
I bought mine in early 2024 and that run stinks.... and is cheaply built.
On the positive side. The case fits my guitar snugly.
The case is super lightweight due to its thin construction.
The case is compact in length and depth and balances pretty good on the handle while carrying.
To be fair it's one of the only decent hard shell cases in its price range and though it's light and flexes a little the latches close good and when closed looks like it will provide a decent amount of protection.
I ordered it with my salesman Will Crisp who provided excellent help while Sweetwater and shippers delivered the case in 2 days.

Gator makes great stuff. Headline says most, and I will definitely be buying more Gator products.

Kudos to Sweetwater and especially to my customer service representative CJ for her recommendation, love the Gator case, meeting my expectations and a perfect fit with my Gibson Les Paul.

Seems sturdy enough. Light which is nice. Fits my Sire L7v snugly. The inside compartment and material feels a little cheaper than the cases I have that came with my guitars, but I expected that. I would recommend it and buy it again based on my initial impression. Only had it a few weeks. We'll see how it stands up over time.

This is my 2nd Gator case I've owned, and I definitely gotta say that I wouldn't consider any other brand.

I bought this for a new LP style guitar. It fits perfectly and is well made. I like that the latches are only on the "opening side". I always forget to unlatch those with my other Gibson cases.

I recently purchased a Gator LP Case for my Epiphone LP Special. I have to say this case is a very well constructed case. Everything has been up to snuff for protecting my guitar. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a good quality case at a fair price. Sweetwater salespeople are top notch, and they go out of their way to give you the best deal possible.

Not as hardy as the SKB I'd purchased before, but nye on $100.00 less costly.
The 'strap' box seems an afterthought. Is smallish, and the lid is kinda flimsy feeling.
Should suit my purpose of moving from local show to show.
Time will tell.

This is a very nice case that's worth the price. Hard, durable, and the perfect fit for my Epiphone Les Paul Modern. The interior also looks very nice and matches my guitar. I also like that it locks for extra security. The small compartment will fit chords, straps, and some notes and picks.

What's best is my guitar is in tune every time I take it out of the case!

Fits my Gibson Les Paul Studio perfectly. I wasn't happy with the Gibson semi-hard/soft case that came with the guitar. This Gator case works perfectly.

I bought this case because my other guitar came with it and it is a great fit for my electric guitar. My only issue is that it doesn't lineup correctly to close and latch it. It's a little frustrating but I really don't think others will have this problem.

I was disappointed with the fit. Since I was using it for an LP kit guitar I made it work but the foam form near where the top of the body rests was too thick so the neck was not resting on the supports. First item I have purchased from Sweetwater that I wasn't totally satisfied with.

The Gator Case arrived today in absolutely perfect condition. This case is for my Epiphone Les Paul Studio LT. More so than the perfect condition was the amazing fit for this guitar. I have added picture below. The plush Black lining actually makes the guitar hard to see in the case, as the axe is black as well. There is a small clearance of space above the headstock but perfect snug fit everywhere keeps the guitar from moving at all, even front to back when case is closed. Super Satisfied and James W. did a great Job guiding me through the selection and purchase, I almost bought a different case elsewhere, but the ability to communicate well with James and staff convinced me that Sweetwater was the way to go. Glad I did! Now I am bringing all my guitar needs to Sweetwater...you should feel comfortable to do so too.

The case is not shaped well for space saving since it is round and does not stack
Also when you open and close it the walls wiggle around not very sturdy feeling I'd rather give $100 more for a rectangular case made of wood or just sturdy enough it's not easy to bend with your hands.

But I am sure it will protect your guitar it may even be better since it may act like a car body and brake the case and save your guitar.

This case is perfect for what I need. I prefer molded cases over plywood, no material to snag and tear. The hardware is great because I don't need heavy duty equipment. This case is perfectly designed for 90% of all applications. If you are taking your guitar on an airplane or throw it out a twenty story building you probably want something heavier.

I purchased this case because the Gibson hard case for my les paul has been back ordered for 6 plus months. Fits like a glove. No movement at all and a very sturdy case. The storage is handy for a strap, picks and even a small pedal. Thank you Justin for turning me onto this case.

I think the design of the Gator electric guitar case is elegant and its construction is strong and quality built. I like the fact that Gator has kept to the classic style and design that most guitar players love without trying to over-modernize it; not like SKB (though certainly a quality built product as well), who has strayed from that classic design in its attempt to build a more durable case. Their present Les Paul case now resembles an Army tank that Captain America could slam around. Certainly designed for touring and traveling no doubt, but they have left no option anymore for a simple yet beautiful protective case for those customers who still love that "Old School" look. I do not play the Gigging circuit, so If I wanted a "Flight Case" to house my Les Paul, I would buy one specifically for that, which I know Gator also produces for its instruments as well. However, I went with Gator for many important reasons; beauty and grace being at the top of my list, as well as the quality and strength it provides; and one more very important reason; its price was reasonable and affordable. While many might enjoy a case built like Hulk on steroids, the price of the SKB case cannot justify its lack of ascetics and its attempt at modernizing. My motto is: "If its not broken, don't fix it"! A longtime SKB user I have been indeed, but SKB has out-priced my budget! Sorry SKB, but you've made me a very pleased customer with Gator.

Do NOT buy this case for your new Epiphone Les Paul Custom. It's too small and the neck support doesn't sit flush with the neck, so the neck sits up at an angle. Not good. The headstock sits too close to side as well and the tuners are right at the edge. It is a nice case, though, just not a good fit for the Custom. I got a 2008 Epiphone Les Paul Classic that is a much better fit, but not perfect, so I switched the Custom over to the Gator wood case. Much better. But if you do need a case for your Les Paul and can wait awhile, I'd wait for the Epiphone case to be back stock. Better than both the Gator cases and more plush. Peace.

Case is well made and light, might have to adjust the fit depending on les paul size by adding some cloth or some packing foam along the outer of guitar and inside case to keep your guitar from moving inside case while traveling like I do for my ESP LTD EC 1000T, but in general all les pauls hold in this case without breaking the bank,guitar or your back!

Bought this for my PRS Tremonti Custom SE. Does not fit very well. I pulled my Gibson Les Paul Standard out of it's case and tried it out. It fit perfectly. Just a heads up to anyone thinking about this for a PRS SE single cut. It does go in, the lid does close.... With some force, but it does not lay flat in the case. I will probably modify it to work because I do like the case.

Bought this case for my LTD EC-256 and it literally fits as if it were made specifically for this guitar. The fit is so close I have to remove my strap as I have installed Dunlop straplocks and there isn't any wiggle room because the foam is that precise. The inside compartment is large enough for a tuner, a pack of strings, and a small cable, but the headstock area has enough space for storage also, that's where I keep my strap. As for the build and durability, it's pro level quality and I am so happy with my purchase. And yes I would highly recommend buying one. And a thanks to Tiberius Huiu who always goes above and beyond to make sure you find what you're looking for, yea Sweetwater!

Not the best case I've ever purchased, but it serves its purpose. Its built good enough and will keep my Gibson LP safe, but the hinges are cheap and have sharp edges. So you have to be careful when opening and closing. 5 minutes with a small file, and no more sharp edges. Like I said, its a decent case. Your guitar will be safe. The fit is spot on, but they could have had better quality control on the hinges.

My new Epiphone Les Paul fits perfect in this great value hardshell hardshell case.

Nothing amazing here, but certainly does the job. In hindsight, I would have gone with the gator case with the TSA latches for just a few more dollars. The case is for a Schecter Blackjack Solo Custom II, and it fits the case well.

My LP fits perfectly in the case even with my Floyd Rose FRX installed; the bar fits nicely in the accessory compartment. The latches, hinges and handle are perfectly installed and the plentiful padding is plush. The case is light but strong. Only time will tell for sure but I expect this case will last for a century or more.

Bought this for a cheap SX Les paul style guitar that turned out to be way better than anticipated and thus needed a case. Case fit perfectly, latches are solid, and the case is not only good looking but has max protection. Good buy.

I trusted this case with my new Les Paul Custom Pro. It was not a mistake. It's a nice solid fit. Will for sure keep my new guitar safe and sound. I took a 1/2 star off because there isn't a lot of storage space, but that has no real bearing on it's ability to do it's job. Glad I bought it. And I gotta say, my new best friend Aaron at the best musical equipment place there is always checks on me and my stuff. Can't beat him or Sweetwater!!!

Got the replacement today, just a few days after the first. This case is slightly better than the first, and, importantly, is keepable, where the first one was not. New and different scuff marks-- this time an area of the Plastic-chrome-color trim coating appears worn away. Head area required manual remolding to avoid bumping the right side pegs as they enter the case and as the case is shifted. The first one retuned my guitar, so I returned it. Probably no permanent damage to the Epiphone Les Paul guitar from the bumps. Increased number of stars from 2 to 3.

has every pair of pants i've owned fit perfect? no. sized slightly incorrectly, a guitar case, like a pair of pants, can hurt. i am hopeful that the replacement case they are generously sending doesn't also impact the right tuning pegs on my epiphone les paul. though there are several other aspects of the interior that could be improved with QA, there is maybe a design flaw with the head space. as the song says, peg bump bump bump, it will be returned to you.

One came with a Epiphone LP I bought for a nephew, he wanted the Epiphone case so I had a spare that I was using for my ESP LTD EC-256 so I figured I'll swap him, I don't really care.

To my surprise I really liked this case. So much so I've bought two more of them since I got the first one. I use them for my ESP EC guitars and they fit like a glove. I bought one of the ESP LTC Wooden cases and oh my goodness is that thing heavy in comparison. It's nice because it's rectangular but if you like guitar shaped cases these are wonderful.

The only thing to consider that might be a down side for someone is they are a bit more bulky than the Epiphone/Gibson cases I'd used before and of course the wooden hard shell ESP case. It doesn't affect my rating at all though, just something to consider.

my custom shop Gibson Les Paul standard fits perfectly in it. Case is so soft inside and nice storage compartment under Guitar Neck. Locking is a nice addition. This case allows me to keep my factory Gibson case at home so it doesn't get messed up protecting my guitar. So my Gibson Les Paul stay in beautiful condition and it factory stays nice. P

I picked up a Hamer Monaco Korina at a steal. Downside - it came with a gig bag and apparently Hamer can't provide a case. This Gator case fits the Hamer like a glove. Sturdy, well built and a great deal at Sweetwater.

I bought this case for my Epiphone SG PRO 400. The guitar fits in the case very snugly.You don't have to worry about your guitar moving around in it at all. The only negative I will state is that while my guitar fits in the case like a glove there is no room for the guitar strap inside the case. I use either Fender 2-1/2 or Levy 2-1/2 inch leather straps. No matter which way I tried to fold the strap it would not close properly. Even when I lay the strap length wise on top of the guitar it would not close properly. I also tried putting the strap under the head stock, no dice! So for that only 4.5 stars I guess I can carry the strap some other way the important thing is the case does its job in protecting your valuable instrument.

Bought this for my ESP 401. The guitar drops in and doesn't slide or wiggle a bit.Construction feels solid and doesn't have that funky smell of some other cases. This is my first Gator case, but seeing how well this fits and how solid the shell is, it won't be my last.

The Molded ABS Single-cutaway electric guitar case fit my semi hollow body guitar perfectly. This case is great for my purposes since I won't be traveling, but it seems a bit flimsy and would most likely not make it thru baggage handling in very good shape. My case suffered a very minor dent in shipment despite being packed in a box. The hinges seem a bit flimsy as well.

The Sweetwater rep who helped me, Russ Gasper, was absolutely top notch - polite and totally professional. He even offered to replace the case or find a different case that might be stronger. But the case is fine for me. Sweetwater service is really the best I've come across.

Fits my Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro great! I prefer the hard ABS plastic of this case over tolex. It is built sturdy and to last. Great service by Sweetwater, as always.

The case is ok. I don't really like the way it holds my Zach Myers though. The guitar is secure inside the case but it has a neck high position. It probably holds a LP a lot better which it is designed. There were several reviews from people who had used this for a single PRS cutaway.

This is a great guitar case. Especially for the money. Bought it for a Les Paul that came with a gig bag, and the guitar fits perfect.

This case is excellent for a typical arched top full thickness Les Paul type guitar. Excellent neck joint support, excellent neck support, and the body sits in the correct position. It is not made for a LP Special, Junior, or any other flat top or thin body version of a LP. Do not buy this case for those type of guitars.

If you have a regular arched top Les Paul this is an excellent choice for an all-around case. It will protect your LP far better than a more expensive wood Gibson case. The neck and body are held tightly, and are well padded. The latches require some effort to close, and they are supposed to be that way. They are unlikely to pop open if they're tight.

You can't go wrong with this case if you have the right guitar.

This Gator case was a bit tight with its first use, but fits my PRS S2 Singlecut Standard Satin pretty nice now.

This is my second Gator hardshell electric guitar case (still use the first one on my SGJ). It is a great quality of build, and seems very dependable. I only wish that they made Les Paul cases fit a little better at the heel of the neck/body. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I bought this Gator case for my new Line 6 James Tyler 59P. The case provides an excellent snug fit. Decent padding and a small compartment with room for a spare battery, charger and cable. It seems very well built and looks great. I'm very happy with the case for the price.

I do not carry this case on airline flights or throw it around like a sack of feed. My 1974 Les Paul Standard fit perfectly. Only negative is the storage compartment is too small for my leather strap with strap locks. If you get one let it sit open outside for a day or two mine had some off gassing to do.

This is a good, solid case which fits my LP perfectly. Each person has his or her own preferences about handle angle, etc, but this isn't a factor for the Gator. All four latches close snugly. Overall, I'm happy with my selection. Kudos to Matt for finding this one as a replacement to the case I had originally looked at buying.

I own an Epiphone L.P. case,Gibson L.P. case and the Gator case.The best of all three is the Epi. Price is right and quality is good,Gibson is overpriced and almost same as Epi.The Gator is way inferior in construction to either of these ,lining fits loose latches poorly made,etc.I would settle for Epi. any day.

For a reasonably priced case this product is a Very Good Value. More durable than the Chipboard Cases that you typically get in this price range. It Fits a Gibson Les Paul Standard very nicely.

Most of my work involves going from my studio to another local studio so I don`t need anything major so I decided to give this Gator case a try thanks to my Sweetwater Rep.

After opening the box and inspecting the case, I decided to return it. If you enlarge the photos, take a look at the handle. You`ll notice that the handle is attached to the case at a very strange angle and the metal sheet that attaches the handle to the case looks like it can easily bend.

Then when I opened the case, I was able to stick not one but three fingers between the inner and outer shell of the case. Not sure why this gap would exist in a guitar case... maybe it was defective but whatever the case (no pun intended) the handle made me feel uncomfortable.

To be fair, my other Gator case has lasted me 15 years but still the handle on that case is not the same design as this.
