For 2018, Gretsch offers the G6128T Player's Edition Jet FT with Bigsby — another classic, big-sounding hot rod with strings for those who like soaring clear tone and thick, crunchy bite. For well over a century the Gretsch sound has been recognized as big and powerful, loud and clear. The G6128T Player's Edition features a select mahogany body with maple top and modern chambering for an axe that is made to rock. A pair of renowned high sensitive Filter’Tron humbucking pickups kicks out the legendary tone that Gretsch is known for. In addition, a string-thru Bigsby tailpiece adds classic Gretsch looks and sound — a signature feature beloved by seminal players from Eddie Cochran to Brian Setzer. Just right!
I had a standard duo jet with 2 switches a few years ago and hated it, never could get the sound right and sounded muddy most of the the time. This one however is more user friendly and just sounds great when paired with a Vox tube amp. I use mine playing guitar for a worship band and I have a lot of other guitars but stick with this one for that perfect sound. So easy to dial it in just right with my board and amp!
Like playing a piece of rock & roll history!
I've always been a Fender and Gibson guy... especially appreciate their heritage and vintage vibe. But this thing is right up there with the best! Immaculate craftsmanship... perfect feel... perfect setup right out of the box. And the Filter'tron pickups combined with the chambered body give guitar this that unmistakable Gretsch sound. Even when playing really dirty - there's a clarity and chime that cuts through. Definitely recommend this guitar for any player!
My New Favorite!
I'd never even look at a Gretsch - let alone considered buying one. considered a I've always been a Fender and Gibson guy. Then I saw a video that intrigued me and bought this guitar almost on a whim without seeing one in person or trying one. OMG... this thing is amazing! Build quality rivals or surpasses my custom shop Les Paul... perfect size neck and frets make for increwdibly smooth playing (reminiscent of a '59 LP) And the sound? The Filter'trons deliver sparkling cleans... yet get as dirty as you want. The master volume control is a really cool feature... and the Bigsby is buttery smooth. Top irt all off with a vintage vibe that few other guitars possess. Overnightcthis has become my favorite guitar of all-time!
Glad I Waited!
I knew these Jets were something special, but this one was worth waiting for! As soon as it arrived and I had it in my hands i knew instantly we were made for each other. 2 weeks of live gigging and I cant wait to give her more action! Just buy it. The crew at Sweetwater are always the best and you get what you are looking at in the pictures! (Sweetwater tech's do a great job on initial set- up, but I always drop them to my tech for personal tweeks, intonation etc. so I would recommend doing that...) Excellent guitar, Fantastic pup's!
