Highly recommend
This is much more useful than I thought. It allows me to use an existing expression pedal, and also a boss foot switch! This makes playing the Boss Katana Go a real pleasure!!
So far, so good!
This is a great unit. My only real gripe is that if you want to program it for keyboard functions, it requires a cable that does not come included (at least not in mine).
If you're using it like I am to send keyboard commands to your DAW, you'll need a USB Type-B cable to whatever USB connection your computer uses.
Other than that, no noticeable latency, the connection is solid even with a lot of interference, and it is absolutely worth the money if it fits your use case.
I will try to update if the experience changes.
solid choice
I thought this would be a great way to control my backing tracks when the stage is too big to get to my laptop. Also looks lame to bend over and hit the space bar between songs. I just wrapped 4 shows and it worked great. It pairs with my windows laptop just fine and shows up as a Bluetooth device. I wanted to do midi mode but it does not show in Reaper as a midi controller. I used HMI mode and reaper thinks its a keyboard. I was able to map the 3 buttons to transport stop/start, previous and next markers. Its plastic but feels solid and the switches feel good when stomping on them. Only thing I might do is mount it to a metal plate to weigh it down since its so light. I worry about kicking it out of reach. Anyway.. it does what its supposed to very well and make me feel more in control of the show.
Read MoreWorks great!
I bought this foot switch just for switching presets on my katana go. I know it can be programmed to do all kinds of stuff but I just wanted the basic function. I didn't bother pairing it with the tone studio app which seemed to be a complicated process. I just paired it directly to the katana go which took all of 30 seconds and done! Now I have switching between presets and it automatically links up to the go as long as I turn the footswitch off first when I'm done.
Useful All-Around Tool
I have used this little thing in a couple of different ways since I got it. First off, I use it to flip chart pages on my tablet during worship services. It fits nicely under my keys above my sustain pedal and volume pedal. I have also connected it to my Boss Katana Go to flip between effects. I have not yet used it to control MIDI but that is next. It has a great, durable feel and the buttons can be mashed silently, which is a very nice touch. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a good useful foot control!
No PC Compatibility
This appeared to be the perfect solution to needing a footswitch for playing guitar through my keyboard rig. Unfortunately, it would not pair with my PC and I subsequently discovered that it is not compatible with non-Mac computers. The build quality seems excellent, but it was a huge disappointment that I can't use it because I choose not to use a Mac. I'll be doubly sure before considering another Roland/Boss peripheral.
Boss fs-1-wl Footswitch
Great addition to my practice. Easy to setup with YouTube and turn page. Always give Ronny Jackson a thumbs up for expertise and feeling of true and trusted friendship. I did get one package
Boss fs-1-wl Footswitch
Great features, for hands off. Great for practice and stage
Nice Multi-Function Foot Switch
This worked out of the box with sheet music sofware on my Android tablet. The build is solid and the buttons work, by golly. The app you can download works OK, but it's not the slickest thing I've ever see. This seems to be a solid product that I'll use for years to come. I'm glad I bought it.
Limited support for devices and no usb power
I was looking forward to this pedal and the ability to add my expression pedal to a midi keyboard that only had one jack for a sustain/ expression pedal. Sadly, this device does not support Yamaha's excellent FC-7 pedal. I have a Roland pedal that works with it, but it is nowhere near the robust pedal that the FC-7 is. The other disappointment is that it does not receive power through the usb cable. It is either battery, or yet another power supply and wire, which I was hoping to avoid.
