Just ok but needs improvement
I bought my first unit through Fender direct, along with the medium sized pedal board. After 1.5 years of abuse the powers supply had 2 of the outputs die. A replacement LVL8 PS was had from Sweetwater. Both units seem to have switching noise from the power supply and is enhanced only when using my compressor or gain boost/distortion pedals. After dialing down the gain levels and buying a noise gate, PS noise is manageable but NOT gone. I've had to sacrifice a lot in tone and texture to power the pedals with this power supply. If it dies prematurely, I'll likely use something else.
Problrem Solved
Replaced my original power supply with this baby and used the volt option to isolate a few pedals that needed more volts and now the rig is noise free.
Great power supply!
Feels very solid, and will work with anything you throw at it with the cables included, and voltage switching options on 2 of the ports, I can even charge my phone with it! My ONE gripe is that I wish the form factor was the same size as the level 12 so that it fit flush into the mount on the Fender medium pedal board that I bought bundled with it. But I can live with the small gap.
Fantastic power supply!
I love my Engine Room 8!I needed an upgrade from my MXR iso brick, something sturdier and with a better AC cable. This absolutely fits the bill and more. It has all the power voltage switching options, comes with all the additional connections you could need for DL4 and vintage gear. Feels very solid, I thought the iso brick was quiet and I was wrong, the Engine Room noticeably brought down my noise floor, which through a loud 100 watt amp can be a massive deal. Overall I think this is by far the best power supply for the money. It feels built to last, so when I can finally play it live I am no longer concerned about my power supply :)
