Lacks refinement

By Jim J. from DARLINGTON, WI
Music Background: Semi professional musician. 40 years.

I ordered this as a steel guitar volume. It was not as refined as I had hoped for to produce smooth swells. As a simple volume.... louder/quieter pedal it would work okay. I need a smoother operating pedal. Trying the Dunlap. I saw David Gilmour of the Floyd using a JD. I'll try that one.

It’s not the pedal’s fault

By Vernon from Northwest Washington State
Music Background: Orchestra, jazz, and rock

An electronic pad with a volume pedal simply doesn't afford me the dynamic control of a real timpani. It is a little better with the pedal, but hard to be precise.

Almost perfect

By C B. from mcminnville, TN
Music Background: Noisemaker mostly

Pros:
Smaller than the Ernie Ball.
Much better pivot point!
Clean, clear sound.
Smooth operation.
Nice taper is easy to have fun with.
Right side in, left out makes cabling easier.
The impedance switch!
Great price.

Cons:
Plastic housing (seems sturdy but light).
Notched gear type capstan for the pot makes a little noise though I didn't hear it at very low amp volume shouldn't be an issue.
Surface mounted jacks.
May not be the best choice for the destructive type on stage.

Overall very satisfied!
