Incredible bass
If your on the fence about this bass go for it and buy one. It's my first fiver and I absolutely love it, awesome playability, great look and amazing sound. Just don't buy the case that is suggested for it. It's not snug at all. They should have designed a specific case for these and hopefully they will.
Dope!
I love this thing. Bought it for drop tuning. Plays like butter with some DDT black beauties. Fantastic tones.
Beautiful Beast
Yes, it looks exactly as it does in the pictures. The sound is raucous, raw, yet refined. If you cannot find your tone on this bass, you're doing something wrong. Mine arrived with Schaller Strap Locks already installed. Nice touch. Also had Dunlop Strap Locks in the package. It also comes with what I presume to be a thumb rest, but the shape doesn't seem to lend itself to any defined location, although it does fit perfectly between the pickups, but if you put it there, it would look awkward. This will not fit into a Zither upright stand, as I had hoped, but a wall mounted String Swing® with a compressed hanger should do the trick.
Beautiful and lightweight.
It offers a lot of features for the price. I'd love to see it coming in at $ with the premium pickups, but you can't have it all. To the guy from Maine talking about how it comes with a thumb rest that happens to fit exactly between the pickups, that's not a thumb rest. It a finger ramp. The idea is it keeps you from digging in under the string. That way there is less clicky-ness when playing, and to some degree is can act like a compressor by preventing overly loud notes. I personally find them limiting, and I like playing hard sometimes.
