This Epi E3 bass case also fits the Epi E0 bass too. You'll need to place a small cotton cloth under the rear body to prop the neck to level. I just used a small, folded blue washcloth. Easy.

I bought this for my EB-0 Bass and it fits like a glove! The construction seems spot on and I feel it was a great buy for the money.

Just purchased for my '72 Gibson EB-3L Slotted Head. I can confirm that it fits lengthwise and the tuning pegs will not rest on the case. Important note: You MUST put a towel under the body with the long neck. The neck support in the case closest to the body becomes a fulcrum without it (pic 1 & 2). Closing the case will press the headstock down and lift the body inviting disaster - these basses are fragile! With a 13x18 wash towel folded in thirds underneath the body, everything lines up perfectly (Pic 4) and I can still get a finger under the top tuning peg (pic 3). Yes - The handle is in an awkward/unbalanced location. But I'm delighted to finally have a well-made case that with protect this bass when I want to take it out!

I got this case for my Epiphone EB-0. It fits my bass well, with just a little extra room at the top, which is just right for my leather bass strap to rest, rolled up. This case is a good match for my bass.

I actually have an Epiphone EB-0 so it's the short-scale version of an EB-3. I was a little worried about fit but went ahead and bought it with the knowledge that Sweetwater has a great return policy. As it turned out, my bass fit the case perfectly with a little extra room at the top (because, as I said, my EB-0 is short-scale). This is a great case for the price; I expect to have it for many years to come. Customer service and follow-up were outstanding. In my view, this case punches way above its weight and its price point. As other reviewers have pointed out, length-wise it's intended to hold an Epi EB-3, but it works just fine for my EB-0 because (1) its interior contour holds the body perfectly and (2) the extra space above the headstock does not compromise the fit, and it even provides some bonus strap storage if you want. Plus, Matt from Sweetwater stayed in touch throughout the shipping process; no names, but we all know that isn't necessarily the case -- no pun intended -- with all online music retail operations.

I bought one of these cases for my (recently purchased) long scale 1970 EB-0 bass. It fits perfectly. I really appreciate that Sweetwater provided measurements. Also, they called me to say they received my order/payment and THEY SHIPPED THE CASE SO QUICKLY!! Who are these people…. Just cool dudes sitting around ready to help musicians in need??? There was candy in the box too. I like Sweetwater. Not like buying from Amazon or other online dealers.

The EB-0 fits perfectly, saving me trying to get a very expensive vintage case.

case quality is high--feels very solid and the hasps are top notch and sturdy. case fits the bass perfectly and snugly, and seems like it will offer solid protection. only drawback is where they put the handle--the case does not balance AT ALL when you pick it up, with the front end diving for the floor and your wrist at an awkward angle. i guess it's not terrible for a quick jaunt to/from your vehicle, but if you had to carry it for a block or more, your wrist/arm would be killing you.

I was looking for a case for a vintage Gibson EB0 since my original case is old, made of cardboard essentially, and won't stand up to constant use. Orginal new Gibson SG bass cases are expensive and hard to find. This case fits the bass perfectly and supports the neck correctly to avoid headstock breaks - the extra space at the headstock end (since my EB0 is short scale) is perfect for storing a leather strap that is too big for the storage pocket. Overall, very satisfied.

I don't know how many people here have ever had a vintage EB-3/EB3-L, EB-0/EBO-L, EB4-L etc's headstock snap off in the original case when gorillas shipped it but some people here are complaining because they say the neck of the bass sits too high in this case. It is done like that purposely so the headstock does not smash into the bottom of the case when it is thrown by shippers or goes off a conveyor belt onto the floor. I have my 1970 EB-3 in one and it also looks like long scale Gibsons and Epi's will fit in this case. They are nice and plush and protective. I just had a 1970 EB3-L (long scale) shipped to me in it's original flimsy case and despite telling the seller to pad the headstock it broke, I do believe it would have survived had it been in one of these cases that is designed to keep the headstock off of the bottom of the case. So no, that is not an error on the designer's part, it is a well thought out protective device to keep your bass in one piece.

Sweetwater has done it again for me! They actually had the Epi EB case that no one else had in stock. This case now holds my '73 EB-3, which has the slotted headstock w/ rear-facing tuning keys. My biggest concern was clearance between the keys and the case, and that's now a non-issue, as the EB-3 fits perfectly in this case.

Quality construction with plenty of draw catches and hinges for a secure top of case closure. (The Jack Casady Epiphone case of similar construction is lacking and lets the big lower bout end warp upward into a gap.) The deep plush interior will accept the Gretsch Junior Jet II short-scale bass AND my 1974 vintage Gibson EB-3 short scale bass. The modern Gibson SG bass has a smaller body and its case can't accept the EB-3 era basses. Fits in snugly here. The gretsch is near-impossible to get a proper case for, and it swims in large 34" scale cases. Its slightly odd longer body will not fit into an SG Bass case either. Here, it's a tight fit but the deep plush gives way and the bass tucks in! I am delighted with this case since it gives me carrying options I did not have before. Ten stars.

I own a Gibson EB-3 that I have played since the late 70's. The guitar is in great shape, but the case had taken a beating. Gibson does not sell new cases for my guitar currently, but their subsidiary Epiphone makes one. This is a great replacement and will continue to protect my bass while I transport it to and from gigs. A perfect fit and designed to form added protection when storing or transporting. I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a very nice case. It looks good on the outside and is beautiful on the inside. It is a perfect fit for the EB3 bass guitar, just as stated. I am very happy with the quality of this case.

Super case at a very reasonable price.

I had this case shipped from sweetwater and it arrived fast. It arrived in perfect condition. It fits my guitar like a glove and the material is great. I just think that Epiphone should look at the design of the case to find a better place to put the handle. To me when carrying the case by the handle the balance is a little off.iIt seems that the handle is in an awkward place for carrying the guitar.

Received my new case sooner than expected in great condition. it is nicer than I expected. the interior lining is very plush and soft. It fits my EB-0 bass perfectly. There is room for straps and accessories in the interior compartment. It is sturdy. looks great and has exterior locks. I have seen a lot of cases in music stores for considerably more that are not half as nice!

Not expensive but built like an expensive case. This bass case for my EB bass is excellent. It fits my bass like a glove. Also, Sweetwater had it delivered much earlier than anticipated. Best company out there.

All fits well except as noted in another review that the guitar does not sit well at all where the neck meets the body at the cradle of the accessory compartment. Because this guitar does not have a bolt on neck the guitar is greatly stressed at he neck joint because the body drops way too low into the body compartment and is radically raised upward at the headstock. This downward stress on the neck of the guitar when closed could very easily snap and/or crack the neck at the neck joint without proper support of the body in the case. Like the other customer who had a similar problem with this I too added some layers of bath towel underneath the body and also added support where the neck is tethered to the body. Usually Epiphone is very good with what they do and this may just be an oversight. However, they should make good on a defective product and replace the cases with defects with proper ones for this particular guitar for whoever bought them. I 'm not sure but I think this is the only case specifically made for this particular bass guitar. The bass guitar however is totally awesome.

Nice, seems well-made, and fits my short scale 1966 EB0/EB3 literally like a glove. For the past 48 years I've been using a modified 196x Telecaster case after the original case was destroyed in an accident. Still may look for another original case in decent, usable condition, but this will work very well whether I find one or not. Looks odd with the extra space above the headstock, but I can find a use for the space.

Over all great case. I bought it for my 1967 Gibson EB-0 short scale. So needless to say this is for the long scale. But the bass fits good and it keeps it from getting damaged. Well made!

First of all, the folks at Sweetwater are the best at what they do for their customers (6 out of 5 stars!). They set the bar of customer service for all other establishments to emulate. This order was my very first encounter with Sweetwater and Mr. Mark Thompson was on top of the sales process from beginning to delivery - many thanks to Mr. Thompson, and his service and advice will be sought in the near future.

Second of all: The Epiphone EB-3 Hard Case: 3 out of 5 stars. The overall value and construction was very good, but the design left me wondering if anyone had checked the dimensions of the short scale (30") Epiphone EB-0 and long scale (34") EB-3 basses to confirm how the basses "sat" in the case. The neck support inside of the case seemed too high so that the body of the bass would sit lower in the case than the headstock. This difference resulted in the bass not sitting level in the case, and additional pressure placed on the angled headstock and neck when the case is closed. I had to place a towel at the "bottom" of the case to act as a "shim" in order to raise the body of the bass, by at least an inch, and level the instrument while it was in the case. The neck support could have been compressed to help compensate for the height difference, but the height (or, depth) of the accessory compartment prevented any adjustments. I don't know if my particular case is an "anomaly" - the body of the bass fits very snug along its length and width, but it does not sit level within the case itself.

This is a very nice case especially for the price. I really like the grey interior with the silver hardware. It looks great against the Heritage Cherry color of my bass. It has a surprisingly plush interior. I picked up a Gibson SG bass but with no case and it fits like a glove in this case. Nicely done and thanks to TJ Walstrom for the help with my order.

A solid, well made case for a low price. A perfect fit for the EB-3 bass. Inside is very plush and well made. Handle feels a bit awkward to hold when carrying case with bass inside. More than adequate protection for your bass when on the road.
