Casio Dimension Shifter Wireless Expression Controller Reviews

Wireless Expression Controller with Adjustable Tension, Bluetooth, and Calibration Controls

Sweetwater guitarists are always looking for new ways to add expression without locking themselves to the pedalboard, and the Casio Dimension Shifter delivers exactly that. This strap-mounted, wireless expression controller turns natural guitar movement into real-time control over your favorite effects. A compact transmitter attaches to your guitar strap and senses motion as you pull or move the neck, sending expression data wirelessly via Bluetooth to a receiver pedal on your board. From there, the receiver connects via standard TRS to an effect’s EXP input. The result is intuitive, hands-on control over volume swells, wah sweeps, delay depth, modulation, or even preset changes — allowing you to stay fully engaged with your performance.

No more being tethered to an expression pedal.

By Rick from Fayetteville, NC
Music Background: Former bass player for Fred Flintstone (prehistoric)

I took a chance on this ingenious invention after watching the demo from the 2026 NAMM Show. I knew Sweetwater would have my back if I didn't like it and wanted to return it.
After getting past the fact you need a separate 9v power adapter to even set up the receiver (Why, Casio?) I realized I had one which met the Dimension Shifter's specs already. The transmitter runs off of 2-AAA batteries. Pairing the units to one another was almost instantaneous.
For my case, I wanted to bond it to a Darkglass Anagram (for bass) to achieve pitch-shifting, divebombing, wah and sustain effects, among other things. I used a 12" TRS cable to run from the output of the Dimension Shifter to the effects return of the Anagram.
I hooked up the transmitter to the front part of my guitar strap and connected the other side with the guitar strap button. I had to shorten the length of my strap to compensate for the added length of the Dimension Shifter, but it was easy peasy.
Once bonded, it worked beyond my wildest dreams. All I do is push down on the guitar neck with my thumb and I have total control over my desired expression. You can adjust the tension on the transmitter, making it more (or less) sensitive to your actions. There was zero perceived latency while performing.
In addition to the cool form factor, my foot is no longer tethered to a floor expression pedal, giving me the freedom to roam around while expressing my notes.
I cannot say enough good things about this little wonder with the exception of being initially aggrieved that Casio doesn't supply the 9v power adapter required to actually be able to use the receiver. Whoever thought was a good idea? It frustrated me to the point that I was going to return the unit because of it. Luckily, I had a power supply which fit the specs to run the unit already at hand.
Because I had already left a 2 star review previously due to the abovementioned adapter issue (and I was going to return the unit), I won't take a star off here. It truly is an amazing little piece of technology.

You can't use this out of the box...

By Rick from North Carolina
Music Background: 56 years active bass player

The unit comes in 2 pieces, one runs off of batteries, the other a 9v adapter, not supplied. So until you spring for the adapter, you have a nice paperweight to use for your cool new effect.

The video demo's look totally cool and I can't wait to try it out. I just have to secure the proper 9v power supply first.

Oh, and did I say the Casio claims you need to use their specific power supply at $
