Input section
The input section of the Chandler Limited Zener-Bender culls lowpass and highpass filters from the company's legendary Curve Bender mastering equalizer. At Sweetwater, we've found that these filters elicit an extremely musical sound that makes everything you run through them sound better.
SSL SL4000E Dynamic Shaper section
The Chandler Limited Zener-Bender's Dynamic Shaper section is gleaned from Softube's SSL SL 4000 E-series channel strip. Armed with a gate and a transient shaper, this section is a powerful workhorse that's guaranteed to elevate your mixes.
Equalizer section
Jam-packed with a 4-band semi-parametric EQ, the Chandler Limited Zener-Bender's Equalizer section offers an amazing level of sound sculpting power, with up to ±15dB of gain per band. While the Curve Bender's lowpass and highpass filters are applied to this channel strip plug-in's Input section, you can also deploy them in the Equalizer section by selecting Cut in the high or low bands. Whether you want subtle half-dB clicks or full-blown ±15dB boosts and cuts, the Equalizer section will be happy to oblige.
Compressor section
Based on the Zener Limiter, the Chandler Limited Zener-Bender's Compressor section offers Comp 1, Comp 2, and Limit modes, with a single Threshold control in lieu of independent input and output gain functions. You also get adjustable Attack and Release settings, an adjustable Parallel wet/dry mix parameter, and a Sidechain Filters function.
Output section
Chandler Limited Zener-Bender was designed to replicate the musical, punchy character of vintage EMI/Abbey Road hardware. Based around the Zener Limiter's THD circuitry, this channel strip plug-in's Output section injects your tracks with a meaty, ear-grabbing distortion that you shape with Drive and Character controls.
