Sweetwater specifically selected the tonewoods for the 0000-28 Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood Custom! These woods deliver not only best-in-class sound but also striking visual appeal with heavy figuring and lots of wood grain. The back and sides are crafted from special “Wild Grain” cuts of East Indian Rosewood that display rare but naturally occurring complex wood grain. Tonally, East Indian rosewood is among the finest existing rosewoods in the world. The species’ strong fundamental clarity and lasting sustain are perfect matches for the 0000 body style — it complements the larger body size with dreadnought-like volume, but with more focused tone! Meanwhile, a premium top carved from Adirondack spruce provides prewar character and foundational projection. For serious players, the real highlight here is the 0000-28 Wild Grain’s mahogany neck. Sweetwater chose a “Modified Low Oval” which provides sublime comfort with a slight taper in width the further you climb.
