Designed for adventurous studio engineers, the Josephson Engineering C700S offers the ultimate in sonic flexibility, accuracy, and sound quality. This microphone includes three condenser capsules: two figure-8 capsules arrayed in a front/rear and side/side configuration and an omnidirectional capsule. Each capsule has a separate output, so you can blend each signal to taste. The individual outputs also allow you to create multiple polar patterns, including omnidirectional, cardioid, supercardiod, M-S, XY, and more. You can even create five primary surround channels for immersive audio formats. The microphone array is internally shockmounted, so you can attach it to any mic stand without any issues. Take it from Sweetwater; the C700S is an amazingly flexible microphone capable of any polar pattern — it’s certainly the perfect choice for challenging productions but you'll soon find yourself wanting to use it every day.

So far I love it!
So far I've only used it on guitar and percussion. I'll know more when I use on more sessions. I'm especially looking forward to using it on ensembles.
It is more technical than the average microphone. If you're thinking of getting one, make sure you understand mid/side recording first, if you do you're ready for the next level, mixing three capsules to get any directionality you want.
