I am honestly blown away by how much you can shape the vocals. If your looking for a warm, subtle feeling to your vocals, look no further...Want a Sparkly feeling of Air to your voice, this is the work horse for you(Don"t waste money buying multiplugins when the C6 is a one-man army worth 5 plugins to create whatever sound you want. I"m sure you"ve guys have heard 5th Harmony"s Work From Home(1.7 Billion views on YouTube...you can recreate that exact open-world feeling to your own voice even with a budget mic. I used my AT2035 condenser mic, used the C6 to enhance the high-frequencies(airy-sparkly feeling), shaped the mids and lows, and BOOM! A New Way to Live
I'd say you need to approach this plugin differently than you do a compressor on a single band!.
think of it more as a dynamic equalizer. where you can help some frequencies pop out a little more than others and maybe tame does muddy ones "from time to time" creating excitement in top end or smoothing transients on upper mid frequencies. it's all up to what you want it to do.
you will discover that the end result is more natural and effective!.
this plugin is worth every penny!.
Killer
The question isn't what does it work on, but what doesn't it work on! I haven't found a single thing that this thing doesn't bring to life. It's great on everything from drums to vocals to cleaning up the 80 hz range on a master mix. Highly recommended.
Great tool
It gets the job done but tone-wise, I don't hear anything special. I'm primarily using it to squash muddy vocal frequencies. Because I've recorded electric drums, in my apartment, it's hard compressing a stereo track that has kick, snare, toms and cymbals. So with this multi-band compressor, I was able to squash the kick more than the snare and so on.
