Strymon BigSky Reverb Plug-in Reviews
Here at Sweetwater, Strymon pedals are synonymous with quality, and now they’re taking their world-renowned reverb pedal out of the box and into the digital realm with the BigSky Reverb plug-in! This plug-in is a direct port of the BigSky’s 12 reverb algorithms, but with a host of added features — pitch shifting, filtering, program-specific parameters, and tunable room ambience are now available for even greater control over your echo. What’s more, the Infinite and Freeze functions are perfect for building up ambient soundscapes, especially when paired with the BigSky Reverb plug-in’s built-in modulation for some spacey sonic movement. Finally, this plug-in sports Strymon’s legendary intuitive control, and it will be instantly familiar to fans of the classic BigSky pedal. It may be their first foray into the world of plug-ins, but in typical Strymon fashion, the BigSky Reverb plug-in is a resounding success!

Big Sky Strymon VST
There are many reverb plugins out there like Valhalla Shimmer which I own but big sky strymon is in another league. I combined keyscape c7 wash with the cloud preset and I was blown away with the sound. Highly recommend it specially for studio producers.
Strymon does it again!
I have put this plugin on my Kurzweil keyboard with a Fender Rhodes sound. It is easy to adjust the sound to your liking and has a good number of reverb types to choose from as well as other great adjustment features. I am extremely happy with this and it was well worth the cost. I highly recommend it.
What can you say?
Strymon has some of the best products around. I've had their pedals and now the plug-in works great. Easy install and very intuitive. Sounds are perfect.
Think it's missing one thing
Managed to try this plugin out. All of the sounds are spectacular. The only global parameter that I think it's missing is some kind of width control. I'm using is primarily for mixing guitars. I'd love the option to collapse the reverb to mono or to really widen the reverb for more spread control. Even with that for my style of music this is a must for me. Exactly what I need for airy guitar tones without the headache of trying to record with reverb pedals. More pedal companies should make plugin versions of their pedals, especially for mixing guitars so we dont need to reamp stuff for tracking modulation or reverb fx.
Good plugin, just can't work with iLok
Strymon has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid playing with their pedals. I also am a big fan of their eurorack modules. So when I saw the big sky plugin I was elated! I wanted to have it. Fast forward to now and I never use it. Why? Because of iLok. Yes, iLok is the deal breaker for me here.
I would use it more often but its usually the case that iLok is preventing me from using my Big Sky plugin when I load up my daw. Worse still, it repeatedly asks for the activation code despite my activating it ages ago. If I could return this plugin I would because it collects more dust than the pedals do. It's a shame because it's a great plugin when it works. But iLoks self-importance often overrides and delays my workflow. I plugin should be heard and not seen like it is in this case. I don't want to have to manage my iLok settings or stop my workflow to open iLok. Its a distraction from the work that's actually important. I have many other reverbs at my disposal and can do without this one if it's going to cause a hassle.
Burned by Strymon
Bought this Plug In and when Apple changed to a new O/S version I reached out to Strymon because this Plug In stopped working. Strymon's customer service response was "sorry about that" but there was nothing they could do about it!!! Buyer beware!
