What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Lovin’ it!!!

I put this EMAD2 head on a 24" Pearl fiberglass bass drum. I'm using the bigger of the two foam rings that it comes with and love the nice, round, fat sound I'm getting. There is still some "click" when you hit it which is great! Previously, had a Power-stroke 3 on it with pieces of foam inside the drum. Nice big sound but I was looking for something "fuller". EMAD2 makes this fiberglass drum sound rich and deep. I'm lovin' it! No foam inside necessary!

Love the Emad2 with EQ3 Reso

I've recorded with this setup and I've had 3 producers ask what I have on my kick. It's a sturdy combination. I also use the DW Drum pillow. With the Emad2 and EQ3 Reso my kick has a nice tone low and thuddy with great warmth from my Birch kit. I also have this setup on my Mahogany kit Same Thud different warmth I think it's warmer.

Just my 2 cents after spending thousands on drum heads I've found this combo and I'm stickibg with for my 22 and 24" Kicks.

Depends on what you want

I LOVED this head on my 22x18 bass drum, so I bought one for my new 24x14 skeptically. I was worried I would lose most of the tone and I was right. It's fantastic on the low end, but I feel it struggles in the mids and highs. Tuning took longer as well. I give it 3.5 because it still sounds great if you're looking for all thunder and little tone, but with a 24x14 tone is the meat.

I'm hoping the head breaks in. If not, I will probably go back to single ply with no muffling. FYI I have a Ludwig classic maple bass drum.

Evans BD24" Bass Head

Time will tell as to it's durability but all in all it serves the prposes intended. My first go around with a 24" after years using 22's. Who new 2 inches could make that much difference. Good muting for any resonat sound with the head and an additional foam ring that I'm not currently using. FREE shipping and the best buy around from where I live.
Thx goes out to Chris Geisler and Sweetwater
