My new go to cymbal

I"ve been playing precusion for over 35 years and cymbal choices are extremely difficult but the one and only choice for me is zildjian a series always. These cymbals have the power to cut through it all and the 16" thin crash is friggin awesome my old one recently cracked but I had that cymbal for 10 years so I got a lot of use on it and now I got my new go to cymbal Sweetwater rocks
Music background: Been playing forever and a day

Versatile!

I've played a 16" A series thin crash for over 30 years. I got it as my first cymbal by mere chance, and have found few that rival it for versatility. It's an excellent rock crash, but due to it's somewhat warm tone (due to it being thin)... it can be used for many genres. I've gone through 3 of them over the years and will buy another when this one goes. If played correctly... they'll last for many years. I can highly recommend this cymbal and size.

Nice sound

I bought this cymbal in a pack with a 18" series A fast crash. It's a nice pairing. Thanks Sweetwater/Zildjian for figuring out what sounds good together so I don't have to. The two are not too dissimilar in sound and compliment each other nicely. When the cymbal is first struck, there isn't a harsh immediate dissonant sound. Smooth sounding crash is the only way to describe it. You hit it and the cymbal rewards you with a full body splash that I like.

Always Zildjian

Love the brightness and sound of this cymbals. Sounds awesome with a K 19" dark thin crash, 18" A fast Crash, K 14" hats and 20" K ride. Must say amazing set up.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Chris McCown

Zildjian A series are classics. I have used the A series for many years because of their tone, musical decay, and durability. One look at the Avedis Zildjian Co. stamp, and you know you own a piece of music history. Rock, jazz, country or blues, the Zildjian A Series deliver the quality!

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
