La Bella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flatwound Bass Guitar Strings - .045-.105 Standard Long Scale
La Bella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flatwound Bass Guitar Strings - .045-.105 Standard Long Scale Reviews
La Bella's Flatwound Deep Talkin' Bass strings became a top choice for professional bass players all the way back in the 1950s, and their popularity has never wavered. Made from hand-polished stainless steel, these flatwound bass strings deliver a profoundly deep and vibrant tone with all the sustain you could ask for — and they retain their tone well after standard flatwounds have gone dead. No strings on the market play as smooth on a standard electric bass, and they feel absolutely luxurious on a fretless bass. If you're in the market for superior flatwound strings, then La Bella's Flatwound Deep Talkin' Bass strings are it.
Distinctive Tone and Easy on Your Fingers
Got these for my Ibanez SR400EQM, and the deep bass tones are much more distinct, IMHO, than the factory supplied round wounds. These flat wounds allow finger slides that are so much smoother than round wounds allow - easier on aging fingers, too!
The silk winding at the machine head end of the strings protect the strings and the machine head from metal-on-metal wear and damage, and also to give a better tuning grip while protecting the windings from unraveling. Glad that I made the switch!
Great Strings
I put these on my Pbass and I'm loving the tone.
la Bella Bass strings
Fantastic tone smooth full > just what you expect for a flat wound strings Fast shipment great service as always Sweetwater rocks!
Just get them
Absolutely insane, deep tone from my p bass with these. They are also smooth as glass and feel really nice. I will never ever get any other strings for my p bass.
Nice flats at a reasonable price
I have been a big fan of the Thomastik flatwounds on my basses, but they're getting to be silly expensive now. The LaBella strings are very similar in feel and tone, at half the price, so I am going to stick with them, replacing sets of the Thomastik strings as they wear out.
these are the flat wounds to buy
LaBella Flats
Fantastic strings!
my first time trying flatwounds
Excellent feel and sound. Very pleased.
The Best Flatwound Bass Strings You Can Buy
I've used Labella's for years, particularly the 760FS and just have never found anything that touches them. I've tried several other Labella models, but the Deep Talkin line just always feels the best to me. I play professionally and have played these strings all over the world..these things just never let me.. Every once in a while ,I'll be tempted to try a different brand or try out round wounds. Then halfway through the first song of a show, I'll always regret it… Try 'em' out and you'll love em' like I do.
The best I have found
My go to flats they are always consistent.
Best flatwounds I've used
These strings are quality made, have great attack for flatwounds, and definitely deliver on the "Deep Talkin' Bass." I've used them on every bass I've had and never had an issue; in fact, most drummers I've jammed with prefer the sound of these to the rounds used by other bass players. In my opinion, these offer the best overall bass tone you can get. If you want to be John Entwistle, get rotosounds. If you want to sound smooth and rich, get these.
Really great quality
I love the way these strings keep tone after they where in a little and the craftsmanship and quality are superb.so easy on the fingers even after hours of playing.
La Bella
I've played nylon wrapped before but these stainless flats are great.
Wish I'd used these years ago
Amazing
They are soo much better on the fingers than the round strings, pretty easy to install too.
Absolute best flatwounds for P Bass
Slinky as silk, amazing sound. Everything you would expect from what the flatwound experience should be.
La Bella flatwounds
Great sounding bass strings. Got the thump and the upper definition.
Fast ship and good candy.
Gotta love Sweetwater.
Wonderful Strings
I don't have a lot of experience with flatwounds, so when I went to order a set for my new Epiphone Bass, everyone said that LaBella were the best. So, I thought, why not buy the best? Then I saw the price. Whew....that's a lot for a set of strings. But, it's Christmas, so I thought, I'll get them.
And wow, I mean, just wow, these strings are amazing. The feel is so smooth. The tone is so punchy and awesome. I've never seen a better made string. They are perfect.
Buy these, you won't regret it.
Great strings
Looking for a great price flatwound. Look no further.. these provide the smooth feel with the low end growl i wanted. Price was excellent and a prefect match to my bass..
Great tone
Got these for my Pbass and I love everything about them. If you want that Jamerson tone, look no further.
Favorite Flatwound Strings
I typically prefer flatwound strings on a lot of my basses and chances are high that if a bass of mine has flats they are these strings. They sound and feel great out of the box and continually get better with age. I've taken these on tour, gigs around town, and concerts; they have never let me down. The tone is consistent and smooth. A great tool for any playing bassist.
Deep talking
I installed this strings on my American Fender Jazz Bass. What a beautiful difference they made. It is so amazing that you can actually hear the difference. I'm glad I purchased them. And I just ordered two more sets to put on my other two basses.
The Best
These strings are just what my Fender American Vintage 1960 Precision needed. Great sounding and very nice feel to them.
Legendary for good reason.
They feel great, sound great and get better with age.
Snug feel
Super smooth, slick feeling and sonically very pleasing (cant wait till they die down a little). However, these strings are snug and fell very taught. If speed is your thing these may take a little gettin used to. If you are groove player holding down some sweet R/B lines these are perfect. I put these on my 66 jazz and a completely different instrument with a little bit of fight when you start to dig in. They dont flop out
Primo flats!
Best flats on the market by a country mile. Perfect mellow balanced sound for P, J, or any style in between.
Thank you, Mr.Jamerson!!
Can't say enough good things about these strings. The flat wounds allow your fingers to slide smoothly up and doen the string, making your playing more legato and connected. The sound they produce is great and I've actually received compliments on how good they sound. Highly recommend, they're the only bass string I'lll use!
Great Bass Strings
They sound and feel so smooth with that well-known vintage tone, and a silk wrap at the end.
Wonderful strings
LaBella flats are my go-to since I started playing bass two years ago. Out of the package, they're bright. But they settle into that warm tone after a couple weeks of playing.
These strings have overtones, which sound musical in many contexts! However, adding light foam at the bridge helps focus the sound for defined, articulate attacks for those of us with lighter touches.
Shawn from Redding CA.
The La Bella flat wounds 105's are nicest strings played.I put them on a Warwick corvette bass and this instrument has never sounded better.I also bought a set of 104's for my P bass and sounds incredible.
Great Bass strings!
These La Bella Deep Talking Bass strings are awesome! I've been a long time D'Arrdario user(still am) but, these La Bella Deep Talking Flats are da-bomb! Smooth and silky, cool mellow bottom end tone with a nice hint of brightness. I highly recommend them!
Great sound!
Can't beat the sound of these strings! Lighter gauge is easier on the hands without a compromise in sound quality!
I've found my strings
newer to bass but have tried several brands of Flatwounds...these are by far the best feel and sound.
The BEST Flatwounds Out There
These are by far the BEST flatwound strings out there! They give your P-Bass that thumpy good tone that we all expect from flats on a P. I have them on my Fender '51 Reissue P-Bass as well as my G&L LB-100 and I love them on both!
Great strings! Love the sound of them and their durability.
Just bought a set of these for a '73 Fender P-bass I recently acquired. I am a big fan of these strings and also have them on two of my other basses, a Fender Jazz Bass and a Hofner Ignition bass. I love the deep tones they put out, as well as the smoothness of them in terms of moving around on the fretboard. They are also quite durable, the ones on my other basses, which I play daily, are probably three years old and still sound great. Would not hesitate to buy them again!
My 'go to' flat bass strings
I've bought various versions and lengths of these stainless steel wound flatwounds. Put these on your P-bass and listen to the groove. For my purposes La Bella flats in their various iterations are just what I need for the smooth sound or deep bass. Well done La Bella.
Further, my sales engineer, Tim is hands down the best SE I've worked with at Sweetwater. My impression is the majority of the SEs are very proficient and work as the customers' advocates, but Tim makes it a mission to find what I'm looking for, collaborates with his peers and associates to make things happen. Well done, Tim.
Deeper sound
Very smooooth…wow what a difference. Very easy on the fingers.
The sound changed too. Deeper, more punchier. Took me a while to get used to the new sound.
I'm using them on a fender squire 70 vintage jazz bass.
Absoultely Superb!
My favorite strings for my Fender P Bass and Fender Jazz Bazz. They feel amazing, contribute a lot to the tone, and they last! They're great from day one but they open up even more as you play them. I keep rounds on my Spector for something more aggressive, but the LaBella's are my top choice any day of the week. They are worth the price!
Wow!
I got these to replace the round wounds on my 70's Jazz with a Precision neck, and all I can say is WOW! What a difference! I know I sound like an advertisement, but I'm just a regular guy who now loves La Bella strings. They're still brand new--I just put them on yesterday--and I can't wait until they're a little more beat up, but there is absolutely no comparison. After about 15 or 20 minutes tweaking the EQ my bass now sounds fantastic and exactly what I wanted: thumpin neck pickup, singing bridge, and loads of character with the two of them together. I'm new to playing the bass and I couldn't put it down. What fun!
Want that classic flatwound sound? This is the string you're looking for! Accept no substitutes!
Simply the Best!
Do you want to take your bass playing to the next level? If so, I highly recommend you change out whatever strings you are using and replace them with La Bella flatwounds. They provide a perfect sound and fell and because of that, your playing becomes more inspired!
I dunno
These strings aren't playing nice with my Ernie Ball fretless stingray. Buzz city. Too thin as we'll need a higher gauge. Never tried LaBella strings on this bass before and won't again.
Get the 760FL not the FS
I like them, especially on a P Bass, but I wish I would have went with the 760FL.
LaBella Deep talkin bass strings
Good tone and feel sound great on my jazz bass
La bella deep talking
It's by far the best Flatwound in the market.
Wicked low end strings
Put a set on my Player series P bass, tuned em up, rolled the tone off and Thumper (that's the P's name...don't yours have names?) went straight into "Papa was a rollin stone" by the Temptations. Such an old school sound great for gospel and R&B type stuff that I'm tempted to try them on the fretless.
Long lasting warmth
I've got different flats on different basses, and these are my favorite, especially on my jazz bass. I've had these strings on my jazz bass for at least two and a half years and they still sound amazing both live and plugged straight the studio mixer
Made a beautiful difference
I put these strings on my Fender Player Series Jazz Bass. Totally changed the tone to a mellower growl. Love the sound. Very happy!
Best strings
If you're looking for deep, warm, rich tones from your bass, then these strings are the best.
Sweet Sound
I just put these strings on my Fender Player P Bass and love the sound I'm getting. I really like the classic bass sound from these strings. My daughter must like them too because she keeps playing the P Bass now!
Great Strings
I'm really liking these strings. They make my Fender Precision Bass come alive.
First Time Flat Round User
I recently bought my first set of flat wound strings (La Bella Deep Talkin' Bass). They are quite a change from round wound. There is much more tension and the feel is completely different (not bad just different). Bottom line is, I was looking for that Motown R&B sound on at least one of my basses and this totally fits the bill. These are the real deal if you want to shoot for that sound. Very nice and balanced overall.
Awesome sound
Bought these for my new Ibanez SR400EQM and they sound incredible. Nice thump and clean highs. Thanks to Myron and Jason for helping me get what I needed, I will definitely shop here again.
Nice
This is my 1st experience with LaBella and I'm very pleased with the look, feel and, of course, sound
I'll definitely try then out on another of my bass guitars
I have this set on all my basses....
I am a jazzer, and all 5 of my basses are fretless. I play this specific set from La Bella on all my basses. I love the tension, the smooth feel, and especially the dark mellow tone I get. La Bella's quality is second to none. You will not be disappointed with a set of these strings.
Flat Wound
Le Bella are some of the best bass guitar strings I've ever used. Smooth feel with a great sound.
Labella 760FS flatwound bass strings
My absolute favorite bass strings!!! Give them a try!!!
La Bella’s ROCK
Was wanting some more punch from my P-Bass and boy do these deliver!! So much so that I ordered another set to put on my J-Bass.
Thanks to my sales engineer Ethan Kattau who always steers me in the right direction.
Awesome!!!
I put these on a G&L SB-2. The SB-2 is a very zingy bass and these flats are just what it needed. They really balanced out the overall tone of the bass and it still has a nice growl when you play it hard. They feel fantastic on the fingers. Highly recommended!!!
Great Strings
I added these to my 1970's Fender P bass. I have never used flatwound strings before. I love em. Smooth strings, great bottom end. I have always went less expensive on strings, not anymore.
Great Sound
I've recently added these flats to my Yamaha bass, and the playability is much smoother; faster. These strings are great for reggae and that vintage 60's flavor.
Well made strings
These are the best feeling flats I've played. The "hand polish" these go through makes them extremely smooth and shiny. Their tone is warmer than the d'addario chromes I had on before, so I'm still getting used to the reduction in upper mids and highs, but overall cannot complain. I think I'll settle right in soon enough and I can tell these things will last a long time.
The BEST bass tone!
I used to have flat wound strings on just one P bass for a classic setup. Over time, I have realized that flat wound strings just give the bass such a strong classic tone. Really unless you are playing slap, flats just sound better. I have them on Jazz basses and active basses like Music Man. There is such a deep thump and pure tone. I have tried many flats but none sound as good and consistent as La Bella. The La Bella strings are super smooth. Others can have gaps between the windings. La Bella flat wounds also last forever. With round wounds I had to change strings every month or so. I have had my La Bellas on some basses for years. They never lose their tone. I think they describe them perfectly as Deep Talkin Bass!
Great strings!
Decided to try out some flat wounds on my Fender Jazz Bass after a long period of using round wounds. I chose rhe LaBella Deep Talking Bass strings as I have them on a Hofner bass I have and really like them. I really like the feel and sound on my Jazz Bass, I play a lot of blues and older rock and R and B and like that classic deep bass. So far, so good. Easy to play and very smooth.
Great set of strings!
These strings are perfect for that Beatles and Motown sound. They sound amazing on my P-Bass. Ben Jimenez's customer service was fantastic. Changed the roundwounds out one at a time like he suggested, and I didn't need to do any setup adjustments.
Great
Did some research on flats before settling on these. Great strings. Put these on my P-Bass. Thump! Will be buying these again.
Nice strings
Enjoying the strings, I wouldn't mine if they were a little less bright.
All said, I like them.
Amazing sound and feel
Relatively new to the bass but a friend of mine recommended these strings and helped me put them on, they're so much more pleasant to play with, offering smooth feel and deep sound. Highly recommend
Strings
Great recommendation
simply the best
These are simply the BEST Bass strings I've ever played. You will notice it the moment your hands play them and your ears hear them. There are a lot of good Bass strings out there but there is something special about these...there really is.
Great strings!!!
Love these so much!!! Great, deep tone & amazing feel!
La Bella 760FS strings
I use these on my Ibanez SR500 Bass and they are a great match! These sound great for all styles, especially jazz, blues, funk, and pop.
La Bella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass Flatwound Bass Strings
If you hate the noise of wound stings, get these! Smooth like butta. If it's good enough for James Jamerson, it's goon enough for me!
Love the vintage tone!
I had these strings put on my Fender American 60"s P Bass. I love the vintage tone and the richness that this set up has. Flat rounds are a joy to play. Real easy on the fingers. You should definitely give them a try!
I love these strings
If you are a bass player that needs a few different types of sound, you need a bass with flatwounds on. I put these on my p bass and fell in live with it all over again. Now it has some serious thump. My band will no longer accept any other strings on my precision.
This is the tone you’re looking for
I love the tone of these: deep pulsating lows and mellow soft highs. They"re incredibly comfortable to boot!
Strings
LaBella Deep Talkings Flatsare the best. I have them on both my basses. The sound is great and they hold tune exceptionally..
The sound I was looking for
I put these on my new Squier Vintage Modified PJ bass and it is just the sound I have been searching for for a long time. Nice low end thump, very warm and vintage sounding. They also feel great under the fingers, with very little string noise. Love them!
If you want thumpy these strings are great
I had my technician do a setup and replace the stock Fender roundwounds on my Squier Affinity series jazz bass with these La Bella flats. My goal was to get a vintage, Jamerson bass sound out of this cheap jazz bass. After three days of playing I am very pleased. ...I have a very thumpy sounding jazz bass. There are a number of good brands of flats out there, but I don't regret using these at all.
Great strings!
Made my cheap bass sound good! Very comfortable to play.
