High Quality
While I do not have experience with a "real" 1073 eq (if that even matters), this is a really special. Just like the other reviews, it is very smooth/lush, and I would say can take a flat, boring sound, and make it "sit right" with added weight, height, and space. The eq points are really well thought-out, and I like the "air" boosts. The knobs feel high-quality, and sturdy. I ran it individually, and with my Slate Fox (neve-eque) pre to see if there was a difference. Yeah, for best results accompany it with a Neve pre, and a comp for leveling, and you have a very "pro" sounding chain. This will be my go-to for electric guitars.
Only complaint is that it would be nice to have a bypass button, and/or a level trim.
Extraordinary EQ!
Just took delivery of 4 of these and they are truly fantastic! These should not be confused for vintage 1073 EQs, honestly they're much smoother and with the added frequencies much more useful as a channel EQs. If you want that super aggressive EQ from vintage 1073s, these aren't that.... but I never wanted that anyway.
It is a bit of a drag that there's no bypass, but you get over that pretty quickly when you start exploring all that this thing can do.
