Joe Bonamassa’s 1958 Korina Flying V — a.k.a. “Amos”
Built in 1958, Joe Bonamassa’s Korina Flying V was one of 98 produced by Gibson in the ’50s. Even before it came into Joe’s possession, this legendary instrument had been showcased in books, magazines, and more. Remember Nigel Tufnel’s Flying V in the film This Is Spinal Tap? That was Joe’s ’58 Flying V. The guitar received its nickname, as well as its customized truss rod cover, from its original owner: Amos Arthur of Arthur’s Music in Indianapolis, Indiana. After proudly posing with it in promotional photos, Arthur sold it to Pete Mitchell of Ernest Tubb’s band, who later sold it to Norm Harris of Norman’s Rare Guitars in Reseda, California. Joe came into possession of the guitar in 2015, just in time for his 2015 Three Kings Tour, and christened it “Amos” after its original owner.

Loaded with Gibson Custombuckers

The warm, sweet sound of these pickups will transport you back in time, arming you with the unrivaled sonic characteristics of arguably the most cherished humbuckers of all time. Boasting historically accurate 42 AWG wire, unbalanced coils, and an unpotted design, Custombuckers strive to be an absolute spot-on re-creation of the original PAF humbuckers.
