Best Middle Ground for Jazz III

I started with the red nylon Jazz III a while ago. I always preferred the shape and smooth tone, but hate how slippery they are. The tortex seem to be the opposite, as they have good grip, but in turn give you that scratchy sound when moving across the string. The ultex seem to be a Goldilocks zone in between. Won't slip away from you quite like the nylon, and is almost as smooth sounding too. Also, seem very durable so far.
Music background: 12ish years of playing.

best picks I have used in my decades of playing

Tortoise shell became illegal (for a good reason) but it did make for a killer picks. Ultex is great material, defined tones, bell like attack, no wear, no flex in the pick (which is just not a good thing thin pick users).
Anyway, I had been using another Dunlop JazzIII black ones and I tried these, sold, this is my pick from now on. I very much like the std JazzIII size not the modified larger ones. Just can't use those large picks. Playing articulately is all about control and touch I cannot see how one can get either of those using a thin pick or some huge pick, just counterintuitive to what you want to do.
When I was young player, eons ago, I thought thin picks were the way to go as I could not handle a thick unrelenting pick but as I aged as a player and developed a sense of touch, pinch harmonics and finesse, I came to understand how to control the lighter attack using the thicker pick, how to rake across the strings and only hit the ones I needed. If you're an advanced player try these puppies, bet you like the tone and control they impart!
Music background: heavy fusion

Ultex Jazz III

The best jazz III pick. No wear pick. The company should
do this pick in assorted colors...The Yellow is almost invisible on the floor !!

NOT THE SAME AS THE VARIETY PACK!

In case you were wondering. I ordered these thinking they would be the same as the one that comes in the Dunlop Jazz III Variety Pack (7 Pack) they are in fact larger. I like the material, its great but just an FYI.
The variety pack says 427P1.38 Gold Ultex, these are 427R

Great pick

I play heavy and classic rock. I've used the Jazz III forever. Switched to red once to match my guitar lol. Didn't think they could improve upon this until I tried the Ultex material. Been using Jazz III for 35 years best I can figure. About 4 years now with the Ultex. Really great for durability and attack.
Music background: 40 years of face melting
