Taylor 352ce 12-string Acoustic-electric Guitar - Natural Sitka Spruce Reviews
The Taylor 352ce 12-string acoustic-electric guitar is Taylor’s take on a 12-fret acoustic guitar. Its Grand Concert body is made up of a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides. The body and tonewoods create a warm bass response and sparkling treble. The Taylor 352ce has a 12-fret neck joint and compressed 24-7/8" scale length that make the strings easy to fret. It’s appropriate to say that this guitar is pleasing to all your senses. It has Taylor’s enviable build quality, feels great to play, and has the classic, beautiful tone of the best acoustic guitars.

Taylor 352ce-12 - Great 12 String Guitar, Easy to Play
Love this new 12 string. Super easy to play. Smaller format easy to play with no sacrifice in tone and volume. Quality of construction as expected for a Taylor guitar. My sales rep A.J. provided great service as always. I'm a 10 year loyal customer to Sweetwater and I would not consider buying a guitar anywhere else.
Player's 12 String
This is always my 12 string of choice from the 4 that I own. It is by far the easiest to play. As is typical of Taylor guitars, it came set up perfectly from the factory. The string spacing is perfect and fits my hand well. The tone of this guitar is rich and full of sustain. It is a very well-balanced tone across the board from high to low, and lends itself well to an amplifier, without having to use a lot of EQ to balance the tone out.
This guitar was the first 12 fret guitar I have ever owned. I like it so well that I turned around and bought the Taylor 312ce 6 string also. I am a small guy, and they fit me perfectly. The design in them with the V-class bracing and repositioned bridge makes for surprising volume and tone. I love the cases that come with them. Whether you are a pro or an amateur, these are 2 guitars you will want to keep!
Excellent guitar
I've had a number of 12 string guitars over the last fifty years and this is the best 12 string string guitar I've ever played! It has a warm rich tone, great action (I'm a finger-style player), and a great feel. The ES-2 electronics are amazing, no piezo "quack".
A shoutout to my my Sales Engineer Dave Dunsire for making my purchase easy and enjoyable. As always, great customer service from Sweetwater
Into the Jingle Jangle Morning
Guitar is my main thing in life aside from work. Have been playing for 20 years, ever since I was a teen. Writing songs, jamming on acoustic has always been my preference. I bought my dream guitar, Martin HD-28, last year to reward myself and because I had finally got to the point in my playing where I needed an expertly crafted instrument. Once you enter the world of premium guitars, there's no going back.
I had owned a few low end 12 strings over the years and always loved playing them. But it seemed like there was never anything between that $400 Gretsch that's collecting dust in Guitar Center and that $4,000 Guild jumbo 12er.
Enter the Taylor 352ce. I ordered it last week from Sweetwater and just received it today. The body/necker are smaller than my big ol' Martin HD-28, but the sound is, well, just a symphony. It took about 20 minutes to get used to playing a 12er again and get the sound I remember loving so much.
It's just a masterfully crafted instrument. Just oozes quality and the sound is so well balanced. You can hear every note, and it's very easy to play. A bit top heavy as you might expect but you quickly get used to it. I do a lot of fingerpicking and weird open chords, and this is just perfect for that. I've found that I like it best playing with metal fingerpicks, much like a banjo which this guitar actually reminds me of in some ways.
Classic American instrument -- part guitar, mandolin and banjo together, at least to me. Everything I wanted and more. Sweetwater provides a buying experience that's second to none (bought my Martin from here, too).
If you, like me, have struggled to find a premium 12 string for a medium price point, this is it. Could not be happier.
As good as it looks
Great action and a full sound for its relative size. 6 pegs for 12 strings takes some getting used to when restringing. I'm very pleased with it.
Incredible 12-String.
Just, wow. This has to be The best 12-string I've ever played. It's weight and size make it easy to travel with. The tone woods really shine in projecting the purest sound and the neck is the easiest to play compared to traditional 12 string guitars. Playing DI is a recording dream and sounds ridiculously natural compared to other acoustic electric pickups I've played. It's excellent for fingerpicking, the smaller body gives way for each note to shine and ring out completely without bowing out. All around amazing instrument and happy to keep this one for life.
A joy to play
I purchased this guitar 6 months ago and have played it just about every day. It's starting to "warm up" and with a dunlop yellow pick the warm low end and overall symphonic sound of this beauty is overwhelming. It is a joy to play and the quality of this guitar is superb as expected from Taylor.
Awesome
This is one of the best 12 String guitars I've ever played. I upgraded from a Taylor 150e and it is clearly a step beyond. (And the 150 is nothing to sneeze at) It is more compact and easier to play but it is also excellent for fingerpicking. The shorter neck seems to reduce the stress at normal tuning but improves playability significantly. I will say that it is very bright (which is what I was looking for), but very adjustable when amplified (or if mic'd it can be adjusted in the mix) The consolidated tuning pegs really keep intonation perfectly. I noticed absolutely no pitching when using a capo, which I've found with other acoustic 12s. Really love this thing and the construction is beautiful.
As for Sweetwater, they are simply the best source for musical equipment, information, and expertise on the planet. I've purchased gear from them periodically for at least 25 years and their advice was always spot on and their follow-up on customer satisfaction is a big plus.
Best playing 12 string you'll ever find
This guitar is incredible right out of the box. I didn't have to set it up at all. The tone is very warm. I sings at both 440 and 432Hz tunings. The sustain is beyond amazing. It holds its tune very well and requires very minimal tuning every couple days. The action makes Barre chords extremely comfortable and natural feeling without the buzz you'd normally get from a 12 string. It's a great parlor guitar or practice guitar because, unlike most 12 strings, the GS body doesn't project quite as loud as the big body 12 strings that I'm used to. I played 8 taylor 12 strings, an epiphany, a fender, a Martin, and several others before I purchased this one, and it out-performed all of them...even the higher end Taylors at twice the price. If you want a dedicated strumming instrument, the 362CE is probably the one for you since it's mahogany. But for articulate picking, fingerpicking and those mellow tunes that need a little something extra, the 352CE is perfect. And at $2000, it's still affordable for an average musician. My favorite part about this guitar is that it snitches on you. If you make a mistake, there's zero distortion to cover it. This guitar has such clear tone and will amplify any mistakes you make. That alone has been the best quality for me, since I'm not a professional and I'm still learning every day after playing for 20 years. Having a guitar that can tell me when I'm making a mistake is almost like having a professional tutor living with me. If you're thinking of buying it, do it. You'll be amazed.
352ce Christmas present
"WOW" GREAT SHOUND, I never expected something this nice. The one thing i must say is Taylor guitars are very well made. It doesnt mater if it's made south of the border or made in the USA. They are quality from the start. I have many Taylors 6 and 12 strings. Have had many guitars throughout my life, Martin D 35-12, Gibson as well. I now only play Taylor. I have 5 of then. At 74, I only play for my enjoyment. Thanks Taylor.
Great value in an acoustic 12-string
There are so many things to like about this 12-string: The solid sapele grand concert body is really comfortable and produces a less boomy response than a dreadnought or jumbo body typical of 12-strings. The 12-fret neck, with nicely rolled fingerboard edges, makes the instrument balance better, puts less stress on the neck, and moves the bridge farther back on the top, producing better bass response. The shorter 24 ⅞" scale, with a 1 ⅞" fingerboard width at the nut, is ideal for fingerstyle playing. The ES2 pickup/preamp system produces full, articulate sound without piezo "quack." Finally, the included hardshell case is good protection for a well-made guitar that offers terrific value for the money. Highly recommended.
Great product. Great service.
Great guitar for the price.
1st year with this wonderful 12 string beast
I bought this from Sweetwater about a year ago and right out of the case fell in love with this thing. I wanted a 12 string but didn't want to deal with all the issues associated to 12 strings, like tuning instability, the extra string tension and size of the instrument where its more a knuckle buster than normal. This thing hit the mark, it sounds great with the spruce top and v bracing, and the shorter scale keeps it in tune better with a lighter feel to it. When I played it for my dad, he could not stop smiling and my brother simple stated "you hit a home run with that one..". I was worried about having a 12 string and how often I would play it, and this thing is in my normal rotation with my other guitars. If you are in the market for a 12 string, in my opinion, this thing is the sweet spot for value, playability and sound. I think you could spend more and even less but I if I had to do it over again, I would keep buying this one. One last note, Sweetwater is the best, this is the second guitar I have purchased from them and I keep coming back, customer service is second to none.
Holy mackerel
This is a magnificent 12 string at any price point. Light touch, sensitive, bold, subtle. The body is deceptively small (3 inches smaller than my Taylor dreadnaught 6 string) considering the bass response which is rich and strong. The days of "tinny highs" from Taylor are apparently over also. The treble that comes out is ringing and round and cuts through without harshness. The new electronics sound great too with a little tweaking both straight to the board or through an acoustic amp if you're playing with others, but it really shows it's strengths mic'd up for solo stuff. This thing is a joy to play and hear. Highly recommended, and well done to the new Taylor guitar-builder guy: The v-bracing thing is revolutionary. This is a magical guitar.
Aesthetically pleasing and playability.
Ordered his beauty and was astonished again with how quickly Sweetwater shipped it out. The size was particularly comfortable for a smaller statured person such as me. (5'9" 135 lbs. ) It's very nice to just kick back with on the couch or my bed and fiddle around with while offering a larger sound than you might think from such a small package. The string tension is not excessive so playing in both standard tuning and a step or half step down is a snap. The quality of materials used as well as looks is nothing short of excellent as you would expect from a Taylor. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is certainly one of those times!
