Full mahogany construction
With the 327e’s all-mahogany construction, you can expect tone that's round and full with exceptional definition. Sweetwater guitarists find the 327e has a slightly darker more vintage sound than a typical spruce top Taylor guitar. It still delivers the signature treble sparkle that Taylors are known for but with additional midrange punch of mahogany that’s enhanced through V-Class bracing.

V-Class bracing: a sonic revelation
Bracing supports each and every acoustic guitar’s interior, and, though it's almost invisible, bracing shapes guitar acoustics in a big way! X-shape bracing was standard on acoustics for over a century, but Taylor’s revolutionary V-bracing is able to tease more volume and sustain out of a guitar’s sound chamber. V-bracing allows wooden acoustic tops to vibrate with more richness, projection, and sustain with more space inside the sound chamber for note maturation. And if that wasn’t enough, this groundbreaking innovation also improves intonation and adds more overtones — those subtle harmonic eccentricities that add sparkle to top-of-the-line acoustic guitars like the 327e.
Grand Pacific: innovation and evolution
Inspired by the diverse acoustic guitar sounds on the records he heard while growing up in Southern California, Andy set out to diversify Taylor’s tonal palette by designing a guitar with a different sound profile. The round-shoulder Grand Pacific shape leverages V-Class bracing’s characteristics for a more balanced dreadnought-style guitar. The Grand Pacific’s overall sound is warm and seasoned with notes that overlap to create a smooth blended sound. Plus, its wider waist delivers more low-frequency power but without the problematic low-end woodiness often associated with dreadnoughts.

Innovative ES2 electronics
Need to plug in? Then you’re going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics built into the 327e! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.
