Taylor 214 ce
Overall I very much like the guitar. I owned a Taylor 714 that I purchase about 20 years ago it was a lemon. The ES pickup system was troublesome so much so that Taylor came out with the ES2 that I think is wonderful. Further the 714 required a neck set 2 different times before I sold it and swore to never buy another Taylor.
Back to the present, I was convinced to by the 214 and think it's a real good value. I immediately changed out the strings, while doing so discovered that the bridge pins are plastic, so installed ebony pins. Also I replaced the plastic truss rod cover with a rosewood cover. Replacing the plastic is not a complaint I actually enjoyed making an upgrade. The ES2 is a definite improvement from Taylor's original ES system. At the present price point Taylor's 214ce is a gem .
