Martin has been making great-sounding, affordable "X" series guitars for a while now, and they've added their first full-depth OO-size model to the roster: the OOX1 Java Mahogany. High-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides are paired with a bookmatched Sitka spruce top for great Martin tone at an amazing value.
Quality construction
It might be a more affordable Martin, but it's still a Martin through and through. The OOX1 Java Mahogany's solid top is braced in an A-frame "X" pattern, using solid Sitka spruce braces. The Natural Stratabond neck joins a morado fingerboard for comfortable, fast fretting, while a tasteful ivoroid soundhole rosette is bordered in black and white for a classy, understated look.
