Steve Smelser
Steve Smelser
With over 35 years of experience helping young students become inspiring musicians, I have devoted my life to sharing the joy of music. I am a passionate private oboe instructor and have performed with numerous orchestras and church groups throughout the years. Outside of music, I love to travel, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, and capture memories through photography and home videos. I’m thrilled to continue my journey with Sweetwater, where I can help even more students discover the magic of music.
As one of the School Relationship Managers here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Interview with Steve...

Steve has been an awesome person to work with. I had worked with Steve for many years when he worked for a previous company, and when I found out he had moved to working with Sweetwater, I was eager to switch rental companies so I could continue working with Steve. He has always had great info to share with me when I need it, and is always quick to respond. I love working with Steve!

"HI, I have kept a business relationship and personal friendship with Steve Smelser for almost my entire career. I have followed his career movements through three companies now. Why do I do this? Because Steve is excellent at his job! Steve's father was a career band director, which prepared Steve to never miss a beat. I would say that he often anticipates our school's every need before we even realize what we need."

Steve is excellent! While I don't make frequent purchases, he has been extremely helpful when I do, and he has also provided my families with plenty of support regarding use of the portal. The students always get so excited when "The Sweetwater Guy" comes in, and they always ask about when he will come back. As someone who uses Sweetwater for my personal purchases, it has been awesome to have someone who can help me to further utilise such a great company!
