Patrick Cavanaugh

At a young age, I was fascinated by music and how sound "works". My mom highly encouraged my interest and signed me up for piano lessons all while introducing me to bands like Eagles and Foreigner as well as artists such as Tom Petty, Aretha Franklin, and Chuck Berry. After I was given a boombox for my birthday, I started my musical self discovery and became enthralled with Artists like Prince, Def Leppard, Weezer, Metallica and Soundgarden.

I picked up the guitar at the age of nine and am a self-taught guitarist and songwriter. I began interning at studios in my late teens so I could learn how to record myself and others. After touring in bands and sleeping in vans as well as working in live sound, I made a shift into recording, management, and label work.

After working with many Artists in various capacities, I found my true love within the music industry is interacting with others who share similar passions. After working in roles from artist development to education/lessons I was happy to jump on the opportunity to join the Sweetwater family. Who doesn't want to talk about gear and music all day?!

I have been playing guitar for 27 years, I have an Audio Production degree, have built and treated my own studio, and helped put together live rigs at churches and events. I have 4 cats, love hockey and WWE, I love personal fitness, and I am a huge foodie who also enjoys wine, whiskey, coffee and craft beer.
