Mike Arango
Mike Arango
My name is Mike Arango and I'm here to help. I have been a Sweetwater Sales Engineer since 2006 and I take great pride in offering responsive, professional service. My years of recording experience mean that I'll usually have a solution for any situation that you might encounter and, if I don't, I'll be happy to use my connections here at Sweetwater to come up with the right answer. I worked as an engineer (both freelance and staff) at various studios in Los Angeles. I draw on this experience to recommend the proper equipment for your studio. Having studied studio design and acoustics for years, I'm able to take your setup from a concept to a fully functional studio. Whether you're a studio pro, a touring professional, or an enthusiast putting together your first bedroom setup, I'm prepared to ask the right questions and to make appropriate suggestions to accommodate your needs. Most importantly, I am here to earn your business through responsive and knowledgeable service.
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Where are you from originally?
North Olmsted, OH
-
What was your occupation before coming to Sweetwater?
Staff and Freelance audio engineer and Pro Tools editor
-
Why did you first apply for a job at Sweetwater?
I took the virtual tour of Sweetwater online and really liked what they had to offer. The opportunity to work with so many like-minded audio geeks was very appealing and the place hasn't let me down.
-
Technical strengths:
DAWs, plugins, outboard equipment and all things recording. Guitars and amps. I have also studied acoustics and studio design for years and have consulted on many builds.
-
Instruments you play:
I am a vocalist and guitarist and very much enjoy the arts of recording and mixing.
-
Gear you own:
My studio is centered around a 48i/o Pro Tools HDX system, Lynx AuroraN conversion, and an API console. I've accumulated a respectable collection of modern and vintage outboard and mics over the years as well as many plugins including UA, Fabfilter, Waves, Sonnox, McDSP, Soundtoys and more. I probably own too many guitars and amps but as most of us know, they each have their own personality.
-
How would your boss describe you?
I think and hope he would describe me as knowledgable and dependable. I really take great pride in what I do here.
-
What is the most important thing you've learned at Sweetwater?
I think the best lesson is that everything we do is for the customer. Ultimately, they're the reason we're here and growing, and it's pretty cool to be involved with a company where "do the right thing" isn't just lip service, but something that is actually practiced daily.

I absolutely did not expect to receive a follow-up call from Sweetwater after I had cancelled my original order due to delayed fulfillment, but Mike and his team far exceeded my expectations. Also, Mike double-checked and made sure I bought the right case for the guitar. It is a perfect fit indeed. This ordering experience was very successful!

Mike is always helpful and knowledgable about the gear I need. It is good to have him as my Sales Engineer. The Pioneer DJMV10 LF is awesome.

You did a good job. I dealt with Mike Arango and he was the best I've ever dealt with, and I've dealt with a lot of people. The customer service was so great and the follow-up after you got your stuff was just as caring. Thanks and keep up the great service.

Mike Arango was on spot and immediately earned my trust with my first order of a guitar strap. I had no idea what Sweetwater was or how they did business. I'm not use to receiving a phone to check upon my satisfaction of a product. This very first time buyer experience built trust and shortly guided me to a guitar to help improve my musical interests. Then there was the old school thick paper catalog sent to me and I'm reminiscent of a buyer experience I thought was long forgotten. Am I too you young to remember the good old days? I'm a buyer that researches a ton of reviews searching for patterns. Sweetwater has a great track record. I've been scammed so many times in the musical industry that I was ready to give up hope. Then I discovered Sweetwater. In fact, I'm so happy with the service I hope to take a road trip someday to visit the main store. Chuck, thank you so much for everything you and AND your team has done to keep your customers happy! I truly enjoy working with Mike Arango and cannot be anymore thankful! I greatly appreciate the TOP SHELF customer service which is the BEST. Period!
