I grew up in Lapeer, Michigan and started my musical journey playing the tenor saxophone at the age of ten. From my first days in 5th grade band, my passion for music grew exponentially. By 11, I was taking piano and drum lessons outside of school. At 12, I began playing the bassoon with the dream of becoming a pit musician on Broadway. When I got to high school, I became fully immersed in the world of drums and percussion, marching center snare for three years and joining multiple community bands throughout my area. It was also during this time that I developed an interest in songwriting and got my hands on my first set of recording gear.
I attended college at Western Michigan University, majoring in Multimedia Arts Technology. At WMU, I gained a wealth of knowledge in studio recording, live sound reinforcement, videography, and music production. At the culmination of my college career, I released my first album which I wrote, performed, and engineered. Throughout that time, I worked as a freelance studio engineer and live sound engineer at local studios and venues. I’ve worked with all kinds of genres ranging from doom metal to Mozart’s clarinet concertos. I also formed a band with a few of my college friends and we picked up some local clout for a minute which was an awesome experience. Additionally, I served as the principal percussionist of the WMU University Concert Band.
My passion for music has carried through all my life and coming to Sweetwater seemed like the natural next step. Here, I get to spend everyday finding the perfect gear for musicians around the country. But more importantly, I get to connect with phenomenal musicians with all kinds of experiences and backgrounds. I love talking music, so give me a call sometime and let’s discuss your next project. I’m always thrilled to help musicians develop their sound. Let me know how I can help!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.
