Hi, I am Ben Stokes, and I have been involved with music for 10+ years with recording, production, and live performance. I play guitar in a local cover band as well as record my own songs and work on a variety of studio projects. I have a bachelor’s degree in music production from the University of Saint Francis and receive training regularly at Sweetwater Sound. I like helping customers with their own setups and worked in our tech support department, troubleshooting a wide variety of systems from home studios to professional and large live setups. I am active in my church’s praise and worship team and love to help serve in any way I can.

Gear you own:
I play a Taylor 816 guitar for acoustic stuff, Fender Strats are my go-to for electric. Studio One setup with an Apollo x8 and 4710 pre amp. My main synths are the ASM Hydrasynth, Sequential Take 5, and Bass Station. I also use Komplete Ultimate, Arturia Analog Lab and Reason software for production.

Describe the most dramatic situation in which you provided the Sweetwater Difference for a customer, or the most unusual/creative solution to a customer's problem:
I have helped many customers when they are in a pinch, but my favorite is probably helping one of Prince’s engineers with a hard-drive issue when he was in a bind.

What in your background prepared you most to help your customers with their audio needs?
Being on the phone in tech support taught me about all kinds of gear and how to provide solutions and great customer service.

Ben follows up on every single order, no matter the size. My last order was for a $10 replacement battery cover for the Shure SLX2 microphone, and Ben even called to check up on that. He's been a great resource whether I only have a question, need a quote, or am making a purchase. He has been very helpful over the years and is one of the reasons I keep coming back to Sweetwater.
