Alan Carter
Alan Carter
I was born into a musical family, and I’ve been hooked since I picked up the violin at age five. The desire to create music began there, but helping as an “apprentice” at my father’s radio station sparked my passion for engineering and capturing sound. I am classically trained on violin and piano but self-taught on guitar and bass. This hybrid approach has served as a template to help shape my professional life. I have a practical foundation in the technical side of things, but I’m able to move forward with a creativity that allows me to develop unique, out-of-the-box solutions for my clients. I have been performing and engineering for over 20 years, and I’m confident in my ability to use this experience to help you make the best decisions possible. Whether you’ve just begun your own musical journey or are well on your way to turning your dreams into reality, please don’t hesitate to turn to me as a resource for technical expertise or even as a creative sounding board. I’m looking forward to helping with all your music needs!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Describe the most dramatic situation in which you provided the Sweetwater Difference for a customer, or the most unusual/creative solution to a customer's problem:
A customer’s wife was interested in getting a very high-end Taylor for her husband’s 50th birthday, but dozens of family members were going to split the cost. Over the course of several months, I secretly coordinated the surprise gift . . . all while trying to keep the customer from being too bummed out that we’d already sold the guitar of his dreams. His wife sent me a picture of him from the moment he opened the box, and the look of complete surprise and gratitude was priceless.
