It was just a simple interface cord, but the package came quickly, and the packaging details were amazing. Such a fun way to receive purchases. I won't spoil it for those who don't know about the bonus pieces in the package. So just 5 stars. Let everyone else find out about the goodies.

For MIDI I/O, this works perfectly. Plug and play, up and running in one minute.

I play midi backing tracks and use a sound module. This midi interface replaces the Uno I was using because my gig software (Showplay) sporadically would not recognize the Uno in a drop down list, even when the Uno was attached to the USB port. I would have to restart the computer, cross my fingers and hoped it showed up the next time I was prompted to select a midi output.I reached out to Andy, my very knowledgeable sales rep and found out that Uno stopped updating their interfaces and so some of the issues I was having could have been attributed to that. Anyway, I returned one of the Unos and got the Mios and they work flawlessly. Only complaint I have is that the cable itself is just a little short. Otherwise...super simple hookup...no driver needed....does what it does with no issues.

Just bought a midi cable for my Simply Piano app and iPad. Cable was promptly delivered with at least 2 follow up calls, texts to ensure I was a satisfied customer. Excellent customer service that has long been forgotten with most companies. Keep up the good work Sweetwater!

Really impressed. Stupid simple and it just works. Got two-way MIDI between an iPad Pro and a Mac Mini using the MIO and a FaderFox EC4. Metric Halo LIO-8 3D handles the audio between the iPad and Mac Mini.

While I needed some initial help ensuring that my MacBook was receiving the signal being sent through this cable from my Casio Previa keyboard, this cable does exactly what I need it to do. I'm looking forward to being able to continue making recordings using my keyboard as a MIDI instrument without worrying about the effect of future Apple software updates.

I have a mid nineties claviano but limited to 8 sounds. Decided to use the midi in/outs to use it with garage band and along with my Apogee duet I'm able to use it send signals back from garage band using this midi cable. Works great!

I used the iConnectivity mio 1x1 to update the firmware on some synthesizers and a drum machine using SysEx Librarian on my old mid-2012 MacBook Pro. Everything worked right out of the box with no driver installation necessary. I've never used MIDI before but this interface helped make everything super easy to update. I haven't tried it with Windows, or with any DAW software, but based on my experience so far I would definitely recommend it!

As long-term Finale users, my wife and I are so pleased to discover this MIDI interface. After so many years of dealing with erratic, temperamental products due to software/compatibility issues, it's such a relief to find something that just works. Upgraded my Mac to Big Sur, no problem. Plug and play, really that simple. I used this to connect a Yamaha mm6 to my MacBook which is running mainstage 3. It automatically picked up the keyboard. Nothing else needed.

This product does what it's supposed to do- but like other reviews I've seen I had my midi ends mislabeled. Once I switched them around everything worked perfectly!

I've been making music with midi since I used my Atari 1040ST in the '80's (still have it, still going strong). These new computers with their USB midi interfaces are convenient but not very flexible. I have a collection of older synthesizer that have no USB outputs, and even with the new synths that do have USB, the midi through function doesn't exist. Plugging this midi interface in gives you access to all these great instruments! The only shortcoming with this thing is that the midi cables themselves are quite short - great for connecting to the midi in and out of a keyboard, but not much else. I got a couple midi couplers (from Sweetwater) to connect male to male and now I can use my assortment of midi cables from the old days. So, I can sit at my Prophet 2000 as master keyboard and record a part using my Roland D-50 across the room - just how it should be! Anyways, if you want the added flexibility of actual midi interfaces or simply want to record your DX7 or Ensoniq Mirage this is what you need!

I bought this to save presets and manage settings on my Strymon timeline and Bigsky - but I wanted it to work with Windows 10 pro and Mac iOS Catalina- bingo night issues works great on both platforms, no drivers to install just plug and go.

I used this with an iPad camera kit to send midi data from an iPad to a windows desktop via my presonus quantum interface. The one trick is be sure to get solid power to the mio - I use an AC powered USB hub, works fine. Good simple product.

I read the reviews before purchasing, and that seems to have been the biggest concern. I knew that ahead of time and experienced no issue.

This is a super simple solution that actually works. I use this to sync clock with my iPad instruments (with a camera connection kit). I actually bought their Mio XM unit which did not work as advertised; stick with this simple solution and you'll save yourself time, money, and a big fat headache. I have a midi clock with multi-outs, and I send clock to my synths as well as out with this great cable to my iPad. Everything stays in sync and it works without anything special. Solid item.

Alright, the product works plug-and-play, easy enough. No additional installation required. My BIGGEST beef with this product is the design philosophy in the labeling department...

The MIDI cables are labelled opposite of how you would think they would be labelled... the cable labelled MIDI IN goes into the MIDI OUT of your device... I understand MIDI signal flow. However, this would make sense if it was a DIN cable on the other end as well, instead of a USB end. Adding a simple thing like an arrow would make things much easier to understand. Or adding a card in the box that explains what I had to search out their web FAQs.

Summary: it works as expected, but DIN cables labeled MIDI IN and MIDI OUT are misleading.

I plugged it in and it worked perfectly. No issues, and I haven"t had to think about it since, which is precisely what I want with something like this.

Simple, economical, plug-and-play (no driver or additional power supply needed). The only room for user error is at the midi end of the adapter - i.e. plugging the correct midi plug into the correct midi port on the instrument.
Completely satisfied with this purchase.

I liked the price, but when I tried to connect to ProTools on my Mac, through the helpful hands of Sweetwater Tech, I found out that the Midi connectors were mis-labeled--out was in and in was out. It would have taken me a dozen years to figure that out. Once things were switched, the item worked well, but beware.

Works great. In and out had to be reversed to get it to work on my Korg Trinity.

This is exactly what I was looking for - a simple totally useable way to get midi in and out of my Mac Book Pro. When I first upgraded to El Capitan my admittedly vintage midi interfaces no longer worked. At the time, the only cheapest thing available was the Presonus Audiobox at about $100. Recently I decided I needed an additional interface to carry around in my laptop bag - and I found the Mio on the Sweetwater website. It weighs almost nothing, and has almost no footprint. I plugged one midi connector into a keyboard and the other USB side into my Mac, and instantly was able to input notes into Finale, having only to select the Mio as the interface in the Device Setup window in Finale.

The only minor complaint I would make, which is not unique to the Mio, is that the two midi cables are labelled "Midi In" and "Midi Out", which I've always found to be a bit ambiguous. Does connector labelled Midi In connect to the Midi Out of the device (YES, as it turns out) or should Midi In connect to Midi In (NO). Maybe that's just me...

Does what I need it to do... no whistles and bells and at a fair price for a simple device.

My man, Will Newbill recommended this for my old PC88 keyboard..... I told him the situation and he did the research for what interface would work to achieve this.....The MIO..... And i'll tell you this was the easiest plug and play i've ever done on any computer .... (Logic Pro X).... I just plugged the USB into the computer (IMAC) and plugged the other end into the MIDI in and out of the PC88, turned the keyboard on and that was it....Played music instantly....No, finding drivers, not any kind of set-up what-so-ever... Remember on the MIDI connector end, out is in and in is out... There's a lot of Youtube vids on connecting the MIDI to your keyboard.... This saved me $$$ thousands, by not having to buy a new keyboard and being able to use an old excellent PC88 keyboard.... Thanks Will !!!!

Had to trouble shoot this a little bit but it turns that the wires are labeled backward. If it says "in" it doesn't go into the in of the keyboard, it's going "in" to the computer. So if yours doesn't work as mine didn't and you've tried everything, switch the cables!

Although the interface did connect the keyboard to the computer, I have been unsuccessful using the program. However, I do not think the problem is the interface. I just haven't solved the problem yet. I was very pleased with the effort by Sweetwater to find the correct interface for my keyboard which is quite old.

Pretty sweet and easy to use... I bought to manage the preset library of my Strymon TimeLine with my computer and it's just as easy as plug it to computer!! No need to instal ridiculous drivers or anything. And Of course, Sweetwater's customer service is awesome!!

The MIO works great and is simple to use.
