If you’re using an IPhone it’s perfect!

By Barry Reich from Red Bank, NJ on November 10, 2023

The new Irig HDX is a great tool for practicing and the like but there is definitely something to be aware of. If you're using it with an IPhone you'll be very happy with it but if you're using it with an IPad you'll be sorely disappointed.
The software that this device uses for an IPad is quite different from that of an IPhone and the IPad software doesn't have the same gain as the IPhone software. Frankly with an IPad it is woefully disappointing. I strongly suggest using an IPhone with this particular device to avoid being disappointed.

Nice to connect

By Sweetwater Customer on December 20, 2023

This multifaceted tool is a great way to connect your guitar to an Apple device. In my case, my IPad that uses Garage Band and Toneworks applications. With headphones, you can rock out and not disturb others nearby.
Set-up is easy, but registering to IK Multimedia was not working.
Still, use this interface to access other amp profiling apps. Price is right for this quality tool. If you need an interface, consider this one.

Unremarkable

By Barry Reich from Red Bank, NJ on October 23, 2023

I own an Irig HD2 that I've been using for the past few years and it works quite well. I was excited to hear that
Irig came out with this new model: HDX and I expected this to be a major improvement on the old HD2. Nothing could be further from correct. Be forewarned, I tried using the new HDX with my IPad and it's a nightmare. It's impossible to get adequate gain out of the new HDX that will provide you with enough output to even listen with headphones.
None of this is the fault of Sweetwater as they only sell it and my audio advisor is excellent. But before you buy it, try it! Perhaps it works better with an IPhone but if you own an IPad you won't be happy.

Not impressed

By ANTHONY BROWN from TRAVERSE CITY, MI on October 3, 2023

Nothing about this device goes beyond minimally functional. You can't adjust input gain with the knob, the headphone output barely gets loud enough to drown out most of the sound of your strings, it's supposed to come with tonex SE but it's kind of hard to tell if it is giving me access to anything that isn't normally in the free version and there's no code for redemption of it, and there's a noticeable delay if you are using the amp output into something else. The amp output also just plain does not sound right. I used it with biasfx stomp boxes running into a pc interface and using neural for the amps and it's better to use the headphone out instead of the amp out. In my opion, Tonex also sounds mostly bad outside of some tonehub presets some people have uploaded but that's largely hit or miss too. In that sense, this was a worthy purchase for just a basic practice setup away from home if I ever need it and it kept me from wasting money on a tonex pedal.

Be aware with headphone jack

By Johnny Curi on March 25, 2024

It doesn't support constantly pulled and inserts
Too Many action like this will brake the chinese jack that not even 've been soldered properly
