Ultra-cool tunes to go!

When it comes to music, nothing makes you stand out more than cool factor. Popular music is all about cool, and the new iPod nano carries more cool factor than all iPods that have come before it. With the ability to hold up to 500 songs, plus display graphics, have the ultimate demo presentation to grab and hold the attention of any record exec, anytime, and anywhere. Plus, weighing at 1.41 ounces and no thicker than a #2 pencil, you can carry your albums, press kit, and band photos with you at all times. This music player is so small and light that you hardly know you have it with you. From an engineering and design standpoint, the nano is truly a marvel. Apple took advantage of advances in both memory and battery technology to build an incredibly small music player. They also threw in a brighter easy-to-read color display that not only helps you navigate through your music but can also display album art as well as your personal photographs.

iPod nano At-a-Glance:
  • Sounds Easy
  • Jog without Skipping
  • Automatic Transmission
  • More Than Music

Sounds Easy
Naturally, for straight ahead music production, iPod nano's ability to support WAV and AIFF files means that you can use it to transfer music files or audio loops that you create in your DAW, sequencer, or beatbox, to any computer that has a USB port. With AIFF support, you can move audio files to a video editing program without having to convert formats. The nano has the same click wheel navigation system as other iPods and, although it is small, it is easy to work with. As with all digital music players, you're not just limited to music. You can also use your nano to listen to audio books and podcasts that you can download (most podcasts are free) from the Apple iTunes music store and numerous websites.

Jog without Skipping
Instead of a hard disk (like all previous iPods), the nano uses flash memory, which means that it isn't subject to skipping (you can shake it and the music won't miss a beat) and, because there are no moving parts, it's more energy efficient.

Automatic Transmission
The iPod nano gives you a seamless sound experience, from download to sync. Just purchase music from the integrated iTunes Music Store or import it from your CDs. Add photos to iPhoto on a Mac or Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Album on a Windows PC. Update your Address Book and iCal on the Mac or Outlook or Outlook Express on the PC. Then connect iPod nano to your computer via USB and all your stuff syncs in a cinch. The moment you connect iPod nano to your Mac or PC, iTunes Auto-Sync gets to work. You don't have to press a button. Auto-Sync updates everything you've added since your last sync - every song, every podcast, every audiobook. And if you have more in your iTunes library than will fit on your iPod nano, not to worry. iTunes will create a playlist that fits your style - and your iPod nano's capacity. If you'd rather hand-pick what goes onto your iPod nano, feel free. Just drag and drop exactly what you want from your iTunes library onto iPod nano and go.

More Than Music
The handy Dock connector on the bottom of iPod nano lets you connect it to your computer, recharge the battery and sync files fast via the included USB cable. Or leave the optional iPod nano Dock connected to your Mac or Windows PC. Then, when you're ready to charge or Auto-Sync, just dock your iPod nano and iTunes automatically gets to work. You can also connect the Dock to a stereo system or pair of powered speakers.
