It's Glorious And It Stinks
I know it's expensive but sweet mother this pad is the smaaaaart move if you're serious about technique. The thick side really does respond like a mid-tuned snare. Thin side bounces less, more like a tom. Both super important!
AND it's actually pretty quiet so you can get away with a late night shed.
(one aside: if you wanna emulate a marching snare, this ain't it)
minus half a star because it smells like the ghost of a tire fire.
Glue holding pad surface to wood failing
I actually really like the pad and the surfaces, however despite being kept in doors, in my living room the glue holding the rubber parts to the wood has started to fail and they are coming apart. Its fixable, but it shouldn't have to be done on an $ practice pad.
