Zildjian Z Custom Crash Cymbal - 19 inches Reviews

19" Crash Cymbal made from B20 Bronze

Bolder than ever, the Z Custom series is a testament to the powerful presence of a heavy-hitting crash cymbal. Cast from Zildjian’s timeless B20 bronze alloy formula, the Z Custom crash is born with exquisite musicality in its blood. But its fast attack and definitive impact tell a remarkably contrasting tale of tenacity. Exuding a brighter and more explosive tone than most courtesy of its slightly lighter weight, the Z Custom crash is engineered for successful performance under the sticks of incredibly hard-hitting drummers that demand a lot of volume for their live applications. From vigorous accenting and high-impact fill resolves to relentless driving metal backbeats, a Z Custom crash is the cymbal you want outfitting your kit for maximum live energy.

A customs beefy big brother

By cryle from florida

was rocking A and K customs for years. love em all but they break so often with my play style (im not wrong your wrong) i think last year i destroyed 5 or 6 high end cymbals. i saw these and immediately for the 19" and 18" crash.

. the cymbals are absolutely beautiful with the finish reminding me of their A custom line, and is most similar to that in sound. however the thickness is closer to a rude cymbal.

never been one for the darker tones of rude so im really happy to have found a beatable/durable high end zildjian

i ended up buying a z custom china and ride too, got the hats in my cart so ill be z custom around the kit.

also very very loud cymbals. if you are looking for to fill big rooms with sound.. here ya go. not a good cymbals for small rooms or little venues, these cut. i almost wanna mic up my bass for home play cause they're so powerful.

if you break a lot of cymbals and wanna upgrade to something durable- here ya go buddy

Basically a thick A custom

By Cryle D.
Music Background: @cryledrums

I don't think any cymbal can beat this. It sounds like an A custom but it's a lot thicker. I have always loved the Zildjian sound, IMO K customs are the best of the best. But because I' a very heavy hitter I just can't use K's, they break in under 3/months. A's have been my default for years, but still even with those, they only last a season or so. I love the sound and feel so I just kinda eat the cost..

Over the years, I've tried a lot of thicker cymbals (like rude cymbals, they're awesome, I have a full set) but they just don't capture the sounds I prefer on the kit like Zildijan's do. I've been in love with the A's because they have the best sound to being able to take a beating ratio

I recently saw the relaunch of the Z custom and figured I would give it a go and I am so glad I did. They have the bright versatile sound of the A customs, but also have some weight to take a beating. So far I have only a 19" but 18" is in the cart and I'll probably scoop the hats or ride by the end of the year.

I play around a gig a week, and I think I've broken two A customs, an S and ZBTncrash, an AAX Sabian and a Meinl (can't recall Meinl series) this year alone for reference. If you are a heavy hitter and want a serious cymbal, I would absolutely consider this.
