Blue Microphones Yeti Multi-pattern USB Condenser Microphone - Blackout
Blue Microphones Yeti Multi-pattern USB Condenser Microphone - Blackout Reviews
The Yeti, from Blue Microphones, has continued to be one of the best-selling USB microphones at Sweetwater since its release more than a decade ago. Now, Blue has released the Yeti in an attractive blackout finish. This USB condenser microphone features a triple-capsule array so you can record in four polar patterns — cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional, and stereo. With this flexibility, you can record almost any source with ease. And, since it plugs right into your computer, the Yeti eliminates the need to haul around an audio interface and a tangle of cables. Podcasters, streamers, and content creators around Sweetwater love the sound of the Yeti, and we’re confident that you will, too!
New for
A Good, Simple Mic
I recently purchased the Blue Yeti to record vocals and acoustic guitar; I also use the Blue Yeti for GarageBand with a 9th generation iPad. The Blue Yeti works with an iPad, provided you also buy a thunderbolt adapter (use headphones with GarageBand). This is a good microphone for a simple home recording demo or even producing a Lo-Fi EP (one or two or four or five songs). I strongly recommend the Blue Yeti for a good starting point in home audio recording. You can always upgrade later down the road.

This is a great microphone and I am happy with this purchase.
Great little mic (not so little)
I love the ease of use of this mic. I bought it for an art show and it's working great. Sound quality (for voice) is superb, at least for what I need, and the price is just right. Plus, Sweetwater customer service is unparalleled.
I'm not crazy about this
I am not the savviest technology person, but I get complaints about the sound in meetings and for voiceovers, I actually prefer how the sound turns out on my Jabra headset...
Blue Yeti - Saved the Day
When the Pandemic began here in the States, I offered to work with my young niece on guitar. To sort of get her ready to take lessons from a professional teacher, when the pandemic situation improved. We are on opposite coasts. One of the problems was my inability to hear her speak or play, due to the inadequate embedded microphone in her computer, and the fact that she is a soft speaker. The Blue Yeti was recommended. Sweetwater shipped it out right away. Happy to report - things are much improved. Her father had no problems hooking it up, and he was quite impressed with the quality.
Great mic!
I love the mic and have already used it for a couple of music projects. Has a really nice, clean sound. The customer service at Sweetwater has also been great! Everyone has been super thorough and communicative. Highly recommend.
Excellent Value
I've got a fair amount of studio time with high-end gear under my belt, so I can't say it's the best mic I've ever used, but at this price point it delivers big. It's a great choice for video voiceovers and the plug-and-play USB connection makes it quick and easy to move around and record anywhere.
Yumping Yeti!
Better than I imagined. a 1-USB install. Great sound (as rated by my ZOOMERS).
Blue Yeti mic
This is NOT a high end mic (nor does it pretend to be). That said, from a basic point of view, it completely delivered the goods I needed for a demo. It is super easy and intuitive to use on my Macbook Pro (& most computers), does not require an interface, and uses a USB connection. For quick recording, or to get a basic idea of material with something better than your computer mic or phone, it was first-rate!
