Gator Frameworks GFW-KEY-5100X Deluxe 2-Tier X-Style Keyboard Stand
Gator Frameworks GFW-KEY-5100X Deluxe 2-Tier X-Style Keyboard Stand Reviews
Are you rockin' two keyboards onstage? You need a proper stand, mate. The double-braced Gator Frameworks GFW-KEY-5100X 2-tier X-brace Keyboard Stand sports a weight capacity of 175 pounds (the main frame), plus an additional 75 pounds for the upper tier, so it's very stable - great for your behemoth 88-key controller or workstation. The second tier is perfect for unweighted keyboards or synths. When the show's over, the GFW-KEY-5100X folds and locks closed for effortless transport and storage. If you're in the market for a two-tier stand, check out the Gator Frameworks GFW-KEY-5100X.
New for
Got this at a great sale price and it's great for what it does
What you see is what you get. There are certainly worse offerings from Gator and others
Good but could be Better
I've owned four different brands of this type of stand. I give this one only three stars because the adjustment feature to set it up is rather awkward to use. Stand is solid enough and I currently have a YC-88 and a Juno G sitting on it. The levelers on the feet make it nice in my old house as the floors are not exactly level. But I prefer having the "trigger" to adjust the spread up under the top of the rack for the main keyboard, as opposed to having a knob down at the pivot point. Setting it up makes one wish for a 3rd hand.
Great stand
I'm impressed by the build quality of this stand. Very sturdy and solid. Easy to adjust, but I'd love to see a method of marking the positions to help with consistent setup after breakdown and transport.
Great quality and sturdy
My Wife needed a new stand as her other one was falling apart. It's very easy to set up and adjust the top rack for a second keyboard. It's great for heavier instruments. There's plenty of floor space for foot pedals. If you're looking for a 2 tier stand for a smaller controller or keyboard this may not be what you're looking for. The width of the top tier is not small enough but it's prefect for your average size keyboard.
Gator Frameworks GFW-KEY-5100X Deluxe 2-Tier X-Style Keyboard Stand
This stand is very sturdy and stable, sits flat. Top tier has an adjustable tilt which is great. It is made better than others that I have owned. The double crossed legs are what makes this sturdy that you don't have to worry about it dumping your expensive equipment on to the floor.I even have it on cushioned carpeting and it still sits nice.I'm sure on a hard wood floor or stage it should serve you well unless you are clumsy then there is no hope :-)

I Really Love The Products From Sweetwater, And I Just Received My Brand New Keyboard Yamaha MX88 I REALLY LOVE IT TOO...
Duel keyboard stand
Came ready to use out of the box. Pulled the height adjustment pin to set the unit up. Set and tightened the upper rack. Placed my new PC4 on the lower and DX7 on top. Connected the DX7 via midi to the Kurzweil and am still having fun.
Poor QC - Top Tier not aligned
While I like the degree of customization I can configure the stand in it's all for nothing if the arms aren't welded on properly. No matter how I configured it there was a very obvious cant to any piece of gear I put on the top rack. I leveled everything out and found that one of the arms was offset by half an inch. The only way to correct it would be to force the stand in place and tie it in place, something I'm not prepared to trust it with.
If you have cheap controllers and don't care about it being level or sturdy then it would probably be useful, but I wouldn't trust this with serious hardware. Very disappointed in Gator with this one.
way better experience than my last attempt at buying this stand
so I tried to buy this stand from else where it got lost in shipping the whole experience was a nightmare. I ordered it here 3 major differences 1 it was a bit cheaper, 2 it comes with the 3rd tier free when I snagged it and last and most important the service was way better! I ordered and like 10 minutes later I get a call to verify if they should ship the main stand at once since it was in stock or wait til the back ordered bonus was in. I opted to have it go out then and will wait for my bonus since I mainly need 2 tiers as a DJ and streamer but its great to have that extra piece coming!
OK, But Not Professional Quality
It pretty much does as it is supposed to do with the following caveats:
Main Height Adjusting Pin: You have to be sure it is inserted all the way. Although it is "spring loaded", it is not sure fire that it will completely engage in the "in" position. Could use definite improvement here.
2nd Tier Rack: Due to welding inconsistencies, the two arms are NOT perfectly level with each other. I had to wrap gaffers tape to the rear of the left arm to raise its height a bit so the keyboard was level, otherwise it teeter totters. Needs more rigid quality control.
I would NOT recommend this stand for night-after-night gig work. Fine if it just sits in your studio.
It Collapsed...Yikes!
I just got this yesterday as I am currently rearranging my studio setup. Initially I was perfectly happy with it after I got it set up and got my keyboards on it. Fast forward to today and out of nowhere the latch to adjust the height of the X-frame failed, causing the stand to collapse to the floor and about $2000 worth of keyboards to come crashing to the ground. My gear is nowhere near the weight limit for this stand either. It's every keyboard player's worst nightmare to have this happen. Luckily I don't think there is any significant damage to my gear, but be VERY careful about making sure the adjustment latch is always secure if you buy this stand. It is definitely not the most secure adjustment latch for an x-frame stand I have ever used.
Versatile uses
The stand goes low enough to be used as a "sit down" practice stand yet stable enough for more elevated use.
A stand that stands
This stand stands well.
Strong
The first thing I noticed was how much bigger this one is compared to the other brands of stands I have, noticeably. I bought it with the intention of have the Matrixbrute on the main shelf and a Drumbrute on the top. The Matrixbrute set very stable. No real wobble, even on carpet, and just felt secure. The down side was that with the Matrixbrute in it's upright possession the Drumbrute could not be tilted forward where it would face me. That idea didn't work but putting my Subsequent 37 on the main shelf and Sub Phatty on top. I may get another without the extra pieces to use for the Matrixbrute but that will be later.
Strong but...
This stand is really strong but the increments of keyboard height are really wide; for a seated position one level was too low while the next higher one was too high. Very easy to assemble and super sturdy.
Gator frameworks Deluxe 2 stand
I was looking for a solid, sturdy stand. I am an aggressive player and this one seems to work well with my Nord Electro 5D. I have yet utilized the 2nd tier, but it seems adjustable and solid too. Thanks Sweetwater!!

Keyboard stands
This is just what the doctor ordered. Had one before when I was younger. Got one again. Rock on my friends, rock on
Disappointed
Well, the stand appears to be well made upon arrival... Feels heavy and very 'positive' when locking into various positions. Works well either seated or standing and does a decent job of supporting your keyboards without a lot of wiggle. Unfortunately after 6 months of use and maybe 20 gigs, the screws and nuts that hold the top tier in place have completely stripped rendering it completely useless. I'm gentle with my gear and I didn't 'gorilla' the screws. Like another reviewer stated, it would do just fine in a studio or static situation where you don't have to collapse and reset it often, but if you're gigging often, look elsewhere.
Good Value
Sold the big house and now have a much smaller space... so needed to consolidate. This accommodates my Yamaha digital piano and keyboard. I would highly recommend this stand.
Gator Deluxe 2 Tier "X" Keyboard Stand
The keyboard stand is very sturdy and handles Nord Electro 3 73 (top tier) and Hammond XK1 (bottom tier) without difficulty. It withstands moderately aggressive playing without issue (organ slides etc). The stand is relatively easy to set up, tear down, and load. Is exactly what I need to facilitate playing small venues and rehearsal room.
GFW-KEY-5100X Deluxe 2 Tier "X" Style Keyboard Stand
This an excellent tool and at a very good value , it supports my keyboards perfectly and it has very good stage point presence ,, for safety and stabilty.
A must have item indeed.
Solid Support for Synths and the Sort
This is a pretty solid stand, and in comparison to a very similar 2-tier X stand by ProLine I own, it's sturdier and the locking joints feel more secure. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is that the top tier supports are a little crooked when lined up. Not uncommon in stands of this type, build, and price point. Your synth (in my case the Novation Peak) won't be perfectly in line, but nothing in life is perfect. Still a solid, dependable stand for the price.
Great product
Love the 2-Tier keyboard stand. Very sturdy. Works great if you want to mount your laptop on 2nd Tier. Highly recommended
Disappointed
Let me start by saying that Sweetwater is awesome and this is no reflection on their company. However, this stand is not at all what I expected. It does come fully assembled (hence the .5 star) however, the top tier seems to have only 2 levels: high or tilted towards you. Adjusting the top tier is not as easy as it looks because it has a teeth-locking system, the knob of which will come completely off if you loosen it too much. The bottom tier is difficult to adjust (pull pin) because of the weight of the top tier. I think this stand is fine if it lives permanently in a studio but I cannot imagine gigging with it. I was hoping for a little more flexibility and adjustabilty of the top tier.
Just Perfect
It's just perfect. It's made for what it's meant to do, don't know what else to say. It's extremely sturdy too. I'd highly recommend this stand for anyone that plays 2 keyboards for live and studio purpose.
Awesome
This stand was much stronger and well built than I expected. It is easy and quick to use. It folds up nicely and can handle heavy keyboards. I have an old Roland F2 with weighted keys and it is heavy.
I was impressed with how the top part was made too. It seems like it is just the right amount of spacing between the 2 keyboards and it is adjustable.
I wish I would have bought this a couple years ago.
