Fat & Punchy, better than my 2 Rics!

By Vohnjamm from Ft.Wayne on December 18, 2023 Music Background: Played bass since 1978

I laughed this bass off when I saw it in some music stores over the last couple years, as a "wanna be guess who i look like" bass. Then I watched a handful of YouTube videos and had to try it out. This bass blew me away, I was able to dial in at least 8 unique tones from fat deep, to crisp spank. This bass is so good, that it is now my main stage bass every weekend. I wish either of my Rics sounded this punchy & fat. This bass has a 24 fret 34" scale neck, but how far forward the body is and how it sits on you, it feels/plays like a short scale! I've never experienced this with any other 34" full scale bass. I love mine & the Rics sit at home, while this Beast is rocking on stage!

The Major Rager On The 4-String MondayFriday'er

By Ryan Black from Jacksonville, Florida on June 23, 2021 Music Background: Synth Hesher

My fiancé bought this here Absinthe Frost Green thing and I must say, it is an awesome instrument. I'm buying the black one as soon as they're back in stock. Super fast neck, hot, punchy pick-ups, solid tuners and nice hardware all around. Well-balanced form and the details give it a rad old-school Rickenbacker vibe. If Cliff were still with us in a physical body, I think he would be into this one. A great bass for the price.

One bass I can't live without

By Mike B from Lexington, SC on December 22, 2022 Music Background: Hobbyist, played bass and guitar for 25 years

I was looking for a new 4 string with a PJ pickup configuration but I'm used to used to more modern basses like Ibanez. I wanted the tone of a classic PJ but didn't necessary want the feel of a Fender bass. When I saw this bass the first reaction is odd, because its a modern retro version of a Rickenabacker meets Fender but really is a Jackson at heart. After watching reviews on YouTube I was hooked on the sounds this was able to achieve. Everything from the classic P or J bass to the Rickenbacker sound and then some! I got the green Absythe Frost and it is beautiful!! But the way this 4 string bass plays is nothing short of amazing!!

I wholeheartedly love the tones and playability of this bass. I can't put it down! From walking bass lines to classic rock to full one metal core this bass can do it all! The pickups are very punchy and lend themselves to more rock styles, however with the on-board EQ, if you roll off the mids anf highs you can smooth it out for more classical PJ sounds.

All in all don't let the looks fool you, this is one sleeper of a bass. With its 12 to 16 inch radius neck and retro-modern styling it's one formidable 4 string for sure.
