EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar - Polar White Reviews

I bought this guitar to add a floyd rose shredder to my pack and loved the idea of the d-tuna since I drop D often throughout my rock band's (Neverland) set. It came perfectly set up and I was amazed at how easy the d-tuna was to use. The wolfgang special always gets a lot of oohs and aaahs at gigs. It stays in tune well, although the d-tuna needed to get slightly re-adjusted after a while since it would go a little sharp on the D when dropped down. But, you can youtube on how to fine tune it. The pickups sound great, lots of gain and cleans up well. The floyd works great, but just know that it is set up for only pulling down, like Eddie had it set it up. It's a workhorse and I'm definitely considering buying a second one as my backup live, especially since the price point is very attractive for the quality of guitar you get.

I tell you what. The Best customer service when it comes to my musical gear and accessories. Had a tiny issue with ordering the wrong thing and Sweetwater fixed it in a matter of seconds. Very thankful for them. Especially since I live in a musical desert. Other than a Guitar center. Yuck no thanks.

Not just saying that because it's the new member of my guitar family lol. Get one!!! You won't regret it. The neck alone is a huge reason to purchase a Wolfgang. The Dtuna. Game changer!!!

I bought this guitar because I need a guitar with a floyd rose and the d-tuna. I loved the white color as well, so it was a no brainer. First of all, the guitar came in excellent condition, set up with the d-tuna as well. It was also in tune out of the box. Amazing. The guitar plays really nice. It's fast and easy to play. The pickups sound great, a little higher output than my other guitars which is what i wanted. It stays in tune well even with floyd rose abuse. I've been recording with it for the last few weeks, rehearsed with band and about to take it live soon. The d-tuna is amazing especially since I bounce back between drop d and E frequently. I can do it within less than a second or two, so can even due it mid-song. I will probably buy another and they will be my main guitars for my rock band.

I was unsure of how this baby would fit my vintage rock preference for playing and recording, but I was encouraged by the videos showing its voice in clean settings. And there is one video that shows the guitar playing jazz.

I love this guitar! She does exactly what I ask of her and has a range few guitars can claim. This is not an EVH guitar only. She can do it the stock PUPs. EVH was always on the tone hunt and this guitar lives to his hope that the guitar is a tool for expression, not the replacement for that expression.

And Sweetwater is the best! They gave me yet another great buying experience!

I'm a PRS guy and usually don't play around with much other brands. However I'm actually really digging this guy. Sounds great, feels great, and loving the D-Tuna. You'll have to get it setup out of the box since the trem is blocked and the action was high for my taste. A lot of reviews on this guitar has said the same but once you do its great. Very much worth the buy.

Eddie Van Halen knows guitars. This EVH WS is the most comfortable guitar I've ever played. I want another!

I've had many guitars since 1984. Peavy, Jackson, Kramer, Ibanez and Fender to name a few. I must say that I love the way this guitar feels. Love the compound radius neck, fits my hand like a glove. Almost has the feel of a Les Paul and a strat combined. Very solid guitar. The Wolfgang pickups are amazing, sounds great in a live setting. Ed really knows guitars. This one is a keeper!

I'd been looking at this guitar for some time, shopping, reading reviews, etc. I was a little reluctant after reading a few reviews. Finally took the leap and ordered it, and could not be happier! Absolutely amazing right out of the box (although it had to be tuned). Years ago I owned a Peavey Wolfgang, which was great but had to be sold (gift from an ex - you know how it is). This is superior to that former rock machine. I also own a Gibson Les Paul Standard, and this things stands right up there with that. Sustain is fantastic despite the bridge, resonance is great, action darn near perfect, growls when plugged in, just all around a beast. Stays in tune after dive bombs, D-tuna functions as it should, and the low friction volume knob is fun. Again, couldn't be happier.
